Don't like Waterman either, as you say he's been inconsistent this year. He's not particularly reliable playing out the back though his passing is his standout attribute. He'll make random unforced errors, give the ball away under low pressure. And then his positioning and reading are sometimes off, go watch his challenge against Garcia early in the first half when we played Trinidad. For a guy with limited athleticism, we cannot afford those mistakes. Neither him or Zator are ideal.

Costa is overrated, we need to stop hyping guys for the sake of it. As mentioned in the thread, many of our guys are playing Next Pro or youth ball still. Even Chukwu who hasn’t played a single game for the reserve team yet he’s listed as a TFC 2 player. We should temper our expectations

I don't think he should come back, he's just played his first year in Europe. The jump from L1O to Tier 4 Germany is significant, it takes time for players to adapt to a new league, the quality of opposition, pace of play. We cannot expect a relative unknown to come in and dominate. It's a good sign they want to extend him and as they've just been promoted, he should stick it out.

You don't call guys just for the sake of new blood, there has to be some type of merit. Playing PL 2 as an over-ager against teens is not good enough, how many times has he even appeared on the bench as third GK?

Waterman for me isn’t deserving of a spot, same with McGill. Really I don’t understand how a 24 year old playing reserves deserves a national team call, it’s a slap in the face to more deserving goalkeepers
