aside from the delusional supporters, they seem pretty pessimistic of their players and their coach (the current friendly they lost against Colombia I believe did not help), and are just hoping they can at least finish this octagonal ranked higher than 8th

Fuck it, I'm pumped for this game. I trust in Herdman, he got us to beat the Americans and Mexico in a competitive game since who the fuck knows how long. He has us on the verge of qualifying to a World Cup, and I have absolute faith that with him we will finally overcome that obstacle that has always been facing Honduras, a team I both despise and respect. Lets make right what happened a decade ago, and fuck, I hope Estadio Olimpico is paccccked, because listening to 40000 Hondurans boo their players off the field after the ass whooping we're about to give them will be music to my ears. True but to contextualize, our true away games have been Haiti, Jamaica, USA, and Mexico. The result in Jamaica was obviously poor but we certainly can't complain about the other two.

The difference between this version of the CMNT and previous ones is that this really is a TEAM and  a coaching staff that is well prepared. Not having Davies and Staq is huge but we are where we are because all players that have see the field have  made contributions. I get the disappointment, but lets not disrespect the rest of our players who got us here. Guys like Piette/Kaye/Osorio & Millar are itching to start and I fully believe we can get the results we need. Laryea can also play as a mid. Look at how Maxime stepped up in window 2 to get that away tie v Mexico. We have been down a goal 4 times in WCQ and have come back to get a result. That shows mental toughness. I think many of us have a bigger problem about the ghosts of past than the players/coaches.

i remember watching that game...  for a moment there was hope and real belief, which then turned into sadness and frustration  😔
we've sure come a long way.  time to write some new history on thursday.
 

The goal we gave up right before half was the killer - was a pretty weak effort and we seemed to have nothing left after that. Honduras destroyed us in the second half - could have easily added another 2-3 goals

Might be an interesting show to watch tomorrow
 

That makes sense…and since federations like Mexico are well funded, hence the large squad. 
 
i wonder if soccer Canada has been able to secure some advance sponsorship money or commitments, given the MNT standing in the hex, and odds of qualifying…
