That whole play started with him.  Great interception and quick pass to start the break.  He's done well reading the play defensively and intercepting several passes.  Although Rosenborg has probably had less of the play, he definitely has stood out this half, in a good way.

Quick comment on Herdman:
When I saw the starting line up against the States I was pretty disappointed. Here we go again, I thought. JH being stubborn playing Bombito. I figured maybe it's more of wanting a physical midfielder to disrupt things and less about commitment to his Bombito-pet-project. Seems to have been the case, fortunately, and everyone came out of this praising Herdman for getting the tactics right and so will I. 
Takeaway - Herdman has balls. Won't always get it right, but he's not a coward. I can appreciate that. 

I think this squad can do the job.  I like the back line and keeper unit.  I like the big game experience with some new x-factors surprising on the attack.
I'm predicting at least a semi-final berth...then hopefully, all the way to the top! 

Incredible she made the World Cup roster!  The few times I’ve seen her play I was very impressed.  Excited to see her play!

I don't have it to post but in the after match interview he credits Phil Neville for working with him and perfecting the move he used to score that goal, what a shame it wasn't the winner!

He wanted to see players and play a system this tournament I think.  He got players to give everything for an important game again. 

We competed.  Hard. We showed a lot of heart out there.  No quit.

I don't know. If it is what it feels like and is 3 at the back again, Millar and Laryea aren't stay-at-home wingbacks.
And Cavallini and Hoilett aren't your counter forwards.

I actually thought it’s the best he has looked in a while. Admittedly the bar is low and just shows how poor he has been. This should really be a floor type appearance from him. But overall thought he did well.

These kind of games against this type of opponent is always going to magnify any negative plays and dismiss the positive ones.  I wouldn't read much of anything into individual performances (though I did feel Bombito looked too technically limited to be a possession maintenance part of the defensive mid game at this stage of his brief pro career).  
But it's over now.  We are on to prepping for the US.  It's a winner takes all.  Anything can happen.  But I don't think the FanDuel odds look that good because of the question marks we have at both ends of the pitch. 
But that's why we play the games and that's why I will be watching and cheering for us.  We have a great opportunity to smash and grab in Cincy!   

They are but it is also dumb to puff your chest out after our group stage.  Just be humble, say you are happy to advance and leave it at that.   This BS bravado against a surging US team seems dumb. 

I would be more concerned if they were 2 goals scored from open play.   As it is, we gave away two silly PKs that we could tidy up easily - one was someone being way tk casual and the other was a poor defensive decision.
