Agreed.  Peru and Chile are both in danger of missing the 2026 world cup, although Bolivia will probably give them a good run for the money in this department.  Still lots of games left in the CONMEBOL qualifiers, but Peru sit at the bottom, and Chile are 3rd.  Neither team qualified for Qatar (Peru lost in the intercontinental playoff if I recall).  It feels like Chile has an older squad and is in a transition period to a new generation.  They have Peru's previous manager, Gareca, who led Peru to qualification in 2018.

More seriously, I think we do need someone who has experience with top players. Someone with whom they can start from a place of respect and who can get them to buy into a system.
I think we continued to struggle with people doing their own thing and not knowing roles.
A coach also has to have the tactical knowledge to make a system that works.
Finding the money for one with both is a struggle but I do think we need to move on.

I was ok with Biello getting the nod for interim.  He's a bright and nice guy, I felt he'd figure it out.  He's had several chances and it does not look good.  The guys don't look like they know what is expected of them, they either don't have or don't understand the instructions and system.  It's a complete mess out there, the only thing that saved us is the individual talent, there was no "team".  It should not have been close, and could easily have gone the wrong way had they converted even one of their opportunities.

While it's fair to say there would have been a Herdman hang over and trouble off pitch with the CSA, Biello has done bare minimum if that on the pitch. Jamaica away being a highlight. 
We can celebrate yesterday but we also arguably should have been playing the States in the Nation's League semi and the Copa play in shouldnt have been needed.
We should have got past T & T and we have a far superior squad that should have made it easier. It was a laboured and lethargic performance. 
I respect Biello's work for us but if he is the answer then we fumbled and mixed up the questions and the biggest opportunity (Copa and World Cup) in our history. 
He has been involved since 2018. The players know him inside and out and likewise. We need a reset and new inspiring leadership, someone players respect not potentially take advantage of, Biello clearly isn't that. (pure conjecture off pitch)

Sure, I get all that, and I don't disagree, but I feel our program needs to go up a notch, and at best Biello represents the best of what Herdman achieved. He's not a step up. I'm not convinced the solution is going to be homegrown. Not yet at least. (I want to be wrong. Believe me. But I just don't feel we're there.)

I agree that what should have been done in the moment but of course Davies is a normally a wingback. 
One of our best chances was still him beating his man and getting of a really good shot. Even playing poorly he made stuff happen and covered up his mistakes. 
 
I think the problem came from the start when you put 3 guys who essentially play similar roles up front and then have at least three more with license to get forward.
You have to have cover from somewhere and provide passing options in the build up.
Yes we played most of our best and/or in-form players but that doesn't always make a team.

Absolutely. It's complete players power caused by Herman's empowerment movement. Lots of respect for Biello but if he continues as head coach I will cry.
Huge opportunity for us with two big tournaments up coming and fantastic youth coming through, to attract a manager with real credibility and experience to take us significantly forward. 

As an interim coach he managed to just get us across the finish line for Copa qualification but nothing I have seen suggests that he should be made permanent.  Just not feeling it.  

We look terrible. Played it out of play three times unchallaneged. Poor first touch. A foul throw in from Tajon. Poor set pieces.
