    This one stings, he plays in MLS and was born, raised and developed in Canada.

    He's better at adapting to the physical play than Insigne, but he doesn't respect the league, he's more dramatic than Defoe when he's on the field. You can see it in his body language.

    I think they have to move on from both of the Italians. You can't recruit just on money with certain players, they have to want to be here, and have respect for the MLS product.

    Mexico will officially cap tie him just so we don't even have a slight chance to getting him. Canada used to be the hunter, now we're the hunted in international soccer.

    I know Ivan is living through his son, but I do believe Herdman fumbled that one.

    I say go where the money is, if these clubs don't have to pay a transfer fee, he can really cash in. My gut is telling me though that he wants to be in the EPL, that's why this deal has been so hard to close, because Lille is hoping to cash in

    He may not be officially cap-tied, but I wouldn't have any hope for him, the Mexico squad is weaker than our squad now.

    I understand what you're saying, but these players are born and raised in Canada. The dream should be to play for the country that gave your family an opportunity at a better life. With Canada's recent success, I'm shocked that some players that are born and raised in Canada would want to even consider playing elsewhere.

    He made close to 15 million his first year. The way the numbers look, he must of had a 10 million dollar signing bonus, since it was a free transfer. TFC paid a 10 million dollar transfer fee to get Defoe, so when adjusted for inflation, the deals are fairly similar.
