My takeaways from this game:
1. Love Adekugbe, need to incorporate him more so Davies can be more attack minded.
2. Based off last night and the Gold Cup, I have confidence in Henry as a rotational CB
3. Is it just me or does our team seem less clunky when only one of David and Larin are on the pitch at a time? Even thinking back to Thursday or our two matches against Haiti, I can't really think of many games where those two have fit together nicely. Could the best way forward be one at a time and running Larin/Hoilett and David/Cav pairings?

If Mexico keeps winning through the next window as well you just wonder how motivated they will be on a cold November night in Edmonton when they are virtually qualified, it may be a chance to atone for dropped points at home to Honduras! There are many twists and turns to come, it all starts with us getting 3 points at home Wednesday, I am super excited for this match already!

Mostly a bunch of 20-something-year olds trying to talk trash.  Badly.    No big deal, though in the end, they ended up buying me a beer.
Most folks here were simply fascinated at the idea that someone might travel to support Canadian soccer. 

I was definitely caught off guard by the amount of messages I ended getting on my phone saying they spotted me.   
 
The heritage moment one made my head explode. 

That was a ridiculous amount of fun.

Good night for Canadian athletes on American soil:  Leylah and Felix both win at the US Open to go to the quarters, and they even mentioned the soccer game result during Felix's match against the American Tiafoe.

I was on a B.C. Ferry coming back to Victoria from a soccer tournament today in the Lower Mainland. The game was being shown on the TV in the main upper deck lounge. What a site to see a bunch of kids and parents and friends who had been at a tournament able to watch Team Canada play live. All of them into it and talking about the players. I honestly never thought this day would come. Pretty awesome. 

After these first two matches. I've decided I'm cheering for:
1) Canada to win every game.
2) Mexico to win every game except vs us.
3) Every other game to tie.

Fu'k off.

Best scoring chances USA had were deflections off Canadian defenders.  Colour me impressed. 

They're going to struggle with the rest of CONCACAF if they can't deal with how we played.

Almost sounds a bit choked up LOL. We really got under their skin and I love it.

Kaye and Eustaquio were effective. I definitely saw more of Eustaquio putting out fires and picking up open men but Kaye did his job as well. Neither were amazing but both ran their asses off.

This thread deserves more attention...I know he has many detractors on here but Doneil provided a hard as nails CB masterclass today.

I think as qualifiers goes on we need to create some kind of Wheeler bingo card/drinking game

Basically anything that involves points dropped by Honduras, CR and Jamaica are good in my books.

Najar only became effective when he no longer had to cover Davies. Phonzie was beating him like a drum in the opening stages, but Buchanan couldn't replicate that and Najar grew into the game.

I'd agree with this. Probably had about 10 different people reply my insta story after the Honduras match asking where to get tickets, common theme was they had no idea this was happening until Thursday... so SN looks to be paying off, too bad they couldn't have announced a deal a bit earlier
