  1. Sorry, I don't believe the players didn't know this was going on. They may not have watched drone footage, but to say they had no idea it was happening, I can't buy that. In their defense though, I believe the use of drones is a coaching decision, which is beyond their control. So their choice is play knowing the coach is spying, or quit the team. If it were me, I'd choose play.
  2. Cavalry doesn't own Spruce Meadows, what support are you expecting? If the NSL doesn't want to pay to use Spruce Meadows, how is that the CPL's fault?
  3. OK, I'm taking the comment about Carlsberg back. I had one at the game today and enjoyed it. 🙂
  4. Darn, I liked having a cold Grasshopper while watching the game. Not a fan of Carlsberg
  5. ^I had the same thoughts. Maybe a little less money going to the senior teams and a little more going to the youth program.
  6. well, then it appears there is a business opportunity for someone to come in and offer programs at the $250 price point. Any takers?
  7. - a portion of the fee goes to the provincial association and the CSA (most likely includes insurance coverage). - a portion goes to cover the registrar fees (admin salary, license for software, computer, office space, internet connection, banking fees, etc.) - a portion will cover the technical director salary and expenses (the TD is probably feeding those Teen coaches an activity plan). - a portion goes to advertising the program. My point is that these programs, when done right, are not the money maker you might think. Our club runs a deficit every year, we need fund raisers to break even. We are a not-for-profit organization and we have never turned a player away because they can't afford the fees (although, I would argue that is because people without money don't even enquire about playing, but that is a different discussion). Without pay-to-play, the system would not exist.
