Having Johnson, Wotherspoon and Larin in there also didn't help with out attacking either.

    Very true.
I was actually presently surprised with Herdman's in-game management, once we went to 10 men. Even before, he pulled the plug early on Wotherspoon, brought on Osorio, which was the right call.
Then, Johnson slotted into RB, Layrea pushed up, Larin came off and Cornelius came on. Good on Herdman for recognizing the versatility of Johnson/Layrea. We established a healthy balance with Cornelius.
Finally, bringing on Millar for Davies is as close to a like-for-like as we have. Millar provided the same pace and athleticism.

I was never a big fan of Herdman, but people need to get over that we didnt win by enough. If before both games we knew we would get 6 points, 2 clean sheets, and a +7 goal difference not too many people would complain. Would everyone be happier if we had won 4-0 and 3-0? The US basketball team, albeit their G/H? team isn't even goin to medal at the World Cup. Just because you are better on paper you will not dominate every game at international level.

Yes, kudos for how Herdman managed this one. He learned from the Haiti match, as did the team. They did not let anxiety get the best of them. This is good.
What is not good is making 5 changes to the team ahead of this one. We never had the same rhythm, surprise? Of course we were going to struggle generating chances.
I understand we lost Hoilett, but maybe starting Osorio over Wotherspoon at minimum would have opened them up some more and/or playing David as the 9 and starting Millar (or even Tesho) on the wing.

But if no red, I think he would have brought on Akindele, maybe cordova and they would have been hungry to show what they could do, and it it would have endde up 2-0 or 3-0 and nobody would be saying anything.  The red put us on the back foot, but herdman and co managed it well from there and got points.  Strangely enough I was going to give Herdman a plus for this one as we could have folded like the Haiti game and they didnt.

You have national team members praising Herdmans methods then theres forum members watching interviews and touchline body language formulating opinions 😂😂 2 losses(one to mexico) in a calendar year and people are calling for his job wtf?

He shouldn't have the job in the first place. I am displeased by default.
Until he at least shows better than Oz (which he hasn't, even with a stronger roster) I am all about a super short leash and holding his (and the CSA's) feet to the flames. Lord knows the "soccer media" in this country won't.

Well, your displeasure not withstanding, he does have the job. So, I'd say it's about time that you, and a lot of others around this place, just got the fuck over it. All the ridiculous moaning about Herdman is turning this place into a slightly less shit version of the Southsiders' board.

But wait, lets not forget, there is also Cavallini with 10 goals in 15 games.  Not too bad either.  What a time to be alive (and Canadian)!
    Sorry

Lucas Cavallini on 10, Hoilett and Larin on 8. These guys are a goal or three away from being on this list. That's a high perctentage of active players making up that top 8 list.

It's just so fun to look at this. 9 games.
    Rank Name Career Caps Goals 1 Dwayne De Rosario 1998–2015 81 22 2 Dale Mitchell 1980–1993 55 19 3 John Catliff 1984–1994 44 18 4 Tosaint Ricketts 2011– 59 16 Alex Bunbury 1986–1997 66 16 6 Ali Gerba 2005–2011 31 15 7 Igor Vrablic 1984–1986 36 12 8 Jonathan David 2018– 9 11 Carlo Corazzin 1994–2004 59 11 Kevin McKenna 2000–2012 63 11
A couple times in the broadcast I think I heard them say 9 goals in 11 games, because even that is crazy good. The commentators can't make their brains accept it's 11 goals in 9 games, even when it's written right in front of them.

Or maybe it was Panama's goalie???  This is concacaf we're talking about.

Finally got to see the Canada vs Cuba game, so I lifted my blackout. Panama lost to Bermuda! That's actually huge. If my calculations are correct, we are just ahead of Panama in the rankings right now (but it's not updated of course) and another win against Cuba on Tuesday will maintain that position and show in the next rankings.

Not sure Chicharito is "A" team as much anymore.  He got the start today/yesterday and scored but think Jimenez (who started against us) would be there regularly.  He certainly was getting more regular football and goals before the Gold Cup and after.   But we will see how Hernandez does at Sevilla.

If we'd been responsible and played friendlies, won those friendlies and improved our FIFA ranking, we could have avoided getting screwed.
I don't believe our current predicament was inevitable. The CSA tried to get away with doing the absolute bare minimum and got burned in the end. Thus whether the CSA was in fact screwed by Concacaf becomes a matter of perspective. In these circumstances, they'll get no sympathy from me.
