It's getting difficult to believe there isn't more behind Corbeanu's situation. 
He's put up good solid numbers everywhere he's played, yet struggled to get playing time and teams just seem to let him go without much concern.
I wouldn't say there is a red flag, but it's amber at the very least.

We'll have new midfielders on the midfield. It'll be the perfect occasion to incorporate them. We gotta find new formulas on that position. To not be dependant only on Staq and Kone.

No LDF this time?  No Piette (Sigur brought in).

I was a little worried that there would be no Kone AND no Choiniere (because he is in the process of a move). That would have been a depleted midfield.

They lobbied Concacaf for the CCC to take place at that time so that it didn't take away from their playoffs.

Interesting to note that pretty much Grasshopper’s entire midfield is homegrown, or at least have spent a number of years there. The two starters in the last game have spent 9, and 3 years at GH, and their bench is mostly guys who seem to have come up through their ranks. They must’ve seen something in Choiniere- LAFC/MLS connection and all, but it’s not typical of them to bring in a veteran from a foreign league as strong as MLS.
 
Per transfermarkt, he’s their most valuable player by about €2M and is the only player they’ve flashed cash for this season. Would guess he’s going to start and should be one of their best players fairly quickly.

A road win is always nice.
We are now at 33 points on the season.  Last year game 27 was the one game we actually won in the second half of the season when we beat Philly.  We are at +11 on the season.  Any addition points from here on out will necessarily increase our total over last year.
Up next in league play we host DC on Saturday.  This is a winnable game although, unfortunately, both Osorio and Bernardeschi will miss the game due to yellow card accumulation.
First, though, we host Forge in the return leg of the Canadian Championship semi-final.  After losing 2-1 in Hamilton back in July, we will need s stronger performance at home.  Technically a 1-0 win would be enough, but I'd really prefer to see a win by a sizeable margin with no late game tension.

It needs to be a really solidly hit ball that deflects off Marcelo Flores' forehead and goes in for a goal.
