First touch was a bit heavy but his second touch was very subtle.  Moved it just far enough away from the defender to allow his third touch to be a perfect weight into the path.  David's awareness to time his pull away and be available for the pass is top notch.

Nice run of play and definitely gets the assist.

Yeah for sure, me too actually. The comparison is there for a reason.
For Team David, the trend since NL has been very enjoyable, if not vindicating. And I am sure if the shoe was on the other foot, and Balogun was outscoring David in France, the USMNT supporters would still be declaring him best 9 in the region. 
At the time it really did look like Balogun was going to overtake David, no denying that. He's very talented.
But what I said back then rings true today:
One thing David has that Balogun doesn't have yet sustained success. 
Balogun had struggles at Middlesbrough, which seemed to be brushed off by USA fans, and in light of his 21 goal debut Ligue 1 season, I understood it. Now in season two it's looking increasingly likely his league tally will be single digits, which is a big swing. And this is really his 3rd full season when you think about it, but this is David's 6th season and he's never scored below 13 league goals.
Unfortunately for this region I am sure Balogun will figure it out eventually. Even if he keeps having up and down years he will have a solid career.
Larin is much the same, with seasons at Besiktas (and Valladolid) scoring at a clip of 0.5 goals per game, but then he had a few seasons with 6-7 ish league goals, kind of like Balogun now. 

It was a joke/dig at his lack of production, and those who claimed he was better than David😊

The club is a disaster from a developmental perspective. The biggest hotbed of talent in North America and they might as well be flushing their money down the toilet. 

I honestly don't see Canada getting any points against Holland, France or Argentina.  However those 3 games will make us so much better and feel like 6 points v Chile/Peru is most likely.

I have told this story before but David turned down every academy in Canada while he played for Gloucester in Ottawa.  And the GM of Edmonton had to beg Vancouver to finally accept Davies into their program.

Not about today or this summer.  Looking to the future to make sure Canada is a viable option to potential kids.

These 5 games will do wonders for the program going forward.  Added exposure, increase the level of play for the team/players and hopefully attract future duals.  Maybe add some new sponsors to the mix as well.

I might be accused of being a shill, but One Soccer is currently $90 + tax until the end of the year.
You would get the Netherlands friendly + CPL + the Voyageurs Cup (which is now 2 legs in the quarter finals on, so more content) + U20 qualifying in July + CCC (Russell-Rowe and Farsi are still in it). Probably other stuff I'm forgetting. 

Now they have to perform.
