If it's our B squad, sure.  Why not.

We played the US and Mexico with 2 days rest. Our opponents played NZ. 3 players  have scored in the 9 games under Marsch,  none of them started. When you add the non stop fouling & chippy play by Mexico, we did ok and showed our class in the first half.

The players changed their position because they came to the realization the CSA has no money… after the CSA just pocketed $8M this summer?

The players were concerned about how the money in the past was distributed. Can’t blame them. That’s what I meant about confidence in the new regime.

Heard it said it may be less a money thing at this point and more about length of the deal.  Isn't there a clause that allows CSB to unilaterally extend the contract for another 10 years when the current one runs out in 2028?
CSA would be wise to be able to take back full control as soon as it can, especially if they see the program continuing to grow.

I would say it likely has more to do with the players feeling more confident in the new leadership of the CSA and its willingness to work in the best interests of the game. Players have a much better understanding and knowledge of the damage previous members of the CSA have wrought; working in their interests and those of a few instead of those that truly matter.

Ask the starting players... would you have any interest in playing this game?  Bet they would rather have the days off.

No real interest in playing a CPL all star team but it would be something some fans would like to see.

I suppose if you can't see it thru the eyes of a player then yes I can see you would feel that way.
Would rather they hold camps/training session with their youth squads.  This would hold way more value than a game against the CPL players.

You can hold that opinion while also not believing that CMNT and CWNT revenues should be used to subsidize it.

You are assuming that he didn't get CSB's blessing to release this update. Blue made it sound like they are potentially very close to an agreement. It could be that the big stuff is sorted out and they are just working out some smaller details and things are going well.

Feels like another large expense for clubs/teams/parents to absorb for minimal gain, especially when there is already a championship in place.

This is a trait amongst many young Canadian or American players, probably stemming from PTSD from their youth coaches constantly barking orders from the sidelines, rendering them incapable of holding onto the ball for more than three seconds.

The PDP is a supplement to the Toyota National Championships in October, not a replacement. It's an exclusive competition, in that only clubs meeting the National Standards are allowed to participate. I am curious to see how things change overtime as more clubs fall in line with the national standards, but for the time being there are only clubs from Ontario, Quebec, BC and Alberta represented in these "national" competitions.
My "local" club, Calgary Rangers, meet the national standards, so they are eligible for this competition, provided they get through their provincial qualifiers (which they have done in a few age groups), but as far as I know they are still able to qualify for the Toyota National club championship if they win the Alberta provincials.
So, clubs meeting the National standards have two "national" club competitions to play for, while the rest of the clubs just have the one.
