As frustrating as it must be to have to deal with all the cheating and crap officiating, the lack of discipline on the entire team and staff has to be questioned. Olivieri needs to held accountable for that

I want to avoid meltdown mode and know people get frustrated over how teams timewaste at the end of matches but Canada's behaviour from the penalty-onwards was embarrassing. Pearlman berated the ref for 45 minutes and somehow avoided a red. Ciccarelli was subbed on already in a mood and begins hauling players off of the pitch. The bench was not being disciplined and I can only assume were awful to the fourth. The manager showed no interest in keeping the bench cool and the captain (Costa) showed no interest in captaining on the pitch. A complete meltdown from players who quite literally acted like children about a referee that they felt was doing them wrong - whether they are in the right or not it's no excuse to act the way they did for the final 45 minutes of this match.

It is clear certain players on this team have a complete lack of composure, Pearlman is yapping at the ref the entire half, Ciccarelli coming on ready to fight somebody. The guy was balling his fists in anger, running up to players and screaming at them, raging all over the pitch. And then Cameron almost throwing a punch at the guy who fouled him. What the fuck is that all about? Wasn't able to watch until the pk but I think we had zero shots on target till that point. We complain about this and that, bitching, whining, it is pathetic mentality. We scored after we went down, played admirably and Morgan, really impressive, small but feisty, was winning every header, kept possession when necessary and failed on his trivela but he kept calm. You wonder why every youth side coached by Olivieri looks lost under the bright lights, the guy has no clue what he's doing

I think there's a big difference between showing "fight" and showing "petulance". Tonight leaned more towards the latter than the former, at least IMO.

One has to wonder how a player like Lopez feels sitting on the bench as the others kick and scream because things aren't going their way.

We'll definitely have to disagree on that. He was an embarrassment running his mouth and acting the way he was.

The manager should be managing them in how to deal with calls that don't go their way.

Acting the way they did doesn't solve anything either. They're simply feeding more into the actions showing that they work.

    On Oliveiri:
I absolutely hated how much space was between our lines and we were easily cut up in the midfield. Morgan was done at the 75th minute and I think he asked multiple times for a substitution. Bottomline, he did nothing to do to keep his job.  He's been in the job for 6 years and accomplished nothing and has hurt player's careers by not getting them into tournaments where scouts exist. I also assume the appearance fees are available at the World Cup U20 level too so there also being a financial drain on the program. On the Game Between the Players:
Panama were better and Mosquera was a beast and by far the best player on the pitch I have a lot of respect for Panama as they have a population of 4 million and perform like that I wish we would learn from other federations to see what they are doing to improve ourselves Pearlman's distribution was terrible again and he was completely unprofessional with the official. Morgan was great in the air and down the wing but he's going to have a tough time sticking at striker Lopez was great but the fact the he needs to be substituted off is an indictment on his fitness I really appreciated what James Cameron brought and thought he should of rolled around when the Panama player threw an elbow at him. It really is the only way we can balance out the officiating Greco Taylor reminds me Alistair Johnston.  Unbelievable grit. Kamani Stewart Baynes needs to find a way to get on the field with Colorado.  He was such a non-factor in the game that I'm unclear how he was signed to a generation addidas contract. Badwal was smart to draw some fouls but didn't really do anything of note going forward. Biello didn't really do anything of note except yell at the official. Swiderski was our best player, again, which is an indictment on the team that he has to be. When I saw that Diallo was an Inter Milan youth player, I was excited to see what kid had.  I didn't see anything out of him that would suggest a prestigious pedigree. On the Official
Pearlman did himself no favours and Olivieri should have pulled him aside The fact that no card was given to the Panama coach for throwing a water bottle on the field set the stage for a lot of "injustice".  I use "injustice" because the referree was not wrong to do anything he did but it was the lack of balance to both teams The Panama elbow to Cameron should have been reviewed by VAR but Cameron got up to quickly to slug the guy. I don't know how many times Greco Taylor was run through but he was the one who recieved the yellow cards.  The penalty was a borderline penalty because of the dragging foot and the red card was terrible.  That is the worst call in soccer to award and penalty and a red.  I do not know why that's even possible within the rules as it awards the game over at that moment.  I'm sure there is statistical evidence that would prove that thesis but I'm lazy. Playing down a man for nearly 60 minutes and awarding the penalty broke the game The worst offense the official did was not review the last play and instead of calming the situation down by simply walking over and looking at it.  He chose to stick it to us and award a straight red to someone on the bench.  If there were fans in the stands it could have got really ugly.  The official spent more time wasting then the Panamanians and he allowed for all the Panamanian time wasting.  Just really poor amateur quality petty officiating.  Both linesmen were in on it too because they had enough talk out of the Canadian players.  -

I'll chime in here to say I hope it's not the last we've seen of Hoilett. I don't know if he'll make it to 2026 and he could be done entirely depending on how things shake out, but I'd like to think he finds a way onto the Copa squad.
The question is who do we drop?
It feels like Osorio is most likely, given the similarities.
Both are good at controlling the ball and the tempo of play, but we're probably past the point of needing both in any given selection. Hoilett has more of a winger profile than Oso and can play wingback as well, but our depth is such that he's not really needed in those roles, barring some emergency situation.
My prediction should we make it is that we see either Osorio or Hoilett or neither for the Copa, but not both, and that's fine. We have Choniere and Ahmed coming into their own. Piette the defensive bulldog, Staq and Kone the locked in starters. There's might be one more spot left between: Hoilett, Osorio, or someone else forcing their way into the picture.

With Kreilach, Schopf and Raposo out there all at once, they are so slow. It was a painful 1st half to watch in particular. Raposo gets praise for his goal, but I thought he was crap throughout. It didn't help that Vite and Gauld appeared off. Agreed that Ahmed will be key this year.

I don't think I can like this post enough. I echo every word.
Is it also not peculiar that the only MNT player (that I saw anyways) who made any sort of public post or appearance for Sinclair's send-off was Sam Adekugbe? It sounds like a very minor thing but it's not a good look at all.
