I regularly attend Fury games, and even I didn't bother to show. Yesterday was beautiful, and I took the family to the park and an art gallery instead.
Honestly, it was the first weekend in 6 months that Ottawa hasn't been a grey overcast frozen wasteland. We weren't spending it in a stadium sitting in one spot.

I was there, it felt like 6,500. Problem is we were allowed to sit where we wanted in a general admission scheme because the snow on the south stands hasn't melted yet.
It was also a great game day experience with a few work colleagues. Good thing I didn't watch much of the game as it was a terrible result.

...but you don't know whether that's the case, while Ian Campbell who chose to use that terminology almost certainly does. Something for the next podcaster to interview Paul Beirne to ask about along with whether multiyear contracts are guaranteed for the full duration or include club held options.

Think the fee is $3 million but haven't been able to track down where I read that originally. The league also has a salary cap and has held player drafts (the U-sports one for sure, but there was also talk of another one that assigned Canadian players to specific teams in some interviews). CanPL is a lot more like MLS than some people like to admit basically and can't sensibly be viewed as a European style club based league at this point. It might eventually evolve into that like the J League did in Japan, but I'll believe franchise owners in a soccer league in North America will vote to potentially be relegated when I see it actually happening.

It's Halifax. And it's because they don't need to go "train" like inferior teams because they already have the 2019 trophy in the bag.
(My confidence may be misplaced, but whatever, I'm in Halifax for a week this summer for work and I will NOT admit I am wrong now, nor in the future).
Edit: this is a joke for anyone who thinks I have actual news or inside information...

I don't know where you're getting that from. Nationwide, OCTranspo is considered one of the best systems, but also with the most expensive fares. The cost is usually the biggest complaint, sure we grumble when the snowstorms knock the schedules out of whack, but it's pretty efficient otherwise.

Oh man, you are sooo right about that in this town.
The universities have semi-viable stadiums at best, especially uOttawa with one right off the highway and the renovated Lees station, but it would absolutely look 2nd fiddle to the Fury. Like, TD Place and a university stadium are not even comparable in terms of prestige or drawing power. CanPL would be setting itself up to look like the semi-pro league in town, no question.
I haven't been down av. Bronson in an age and a half but I cannot imagine the stadium at Carleton is that much better.
I like CanPL (it's the reason I joined the site), but if it means sitting in an ancient and tiny stadium next to an apartment building (even if its beside the scenic Rideau River AND has a giant Franco-Ontarien flag), I am picking TD Place because there is actually something to do with my kids before and after the game and there is a restaurant within a kilometre.

I understand your passion for the idea of an alternative pop up stadium in Ottawa but there’s really no space available in the Greenbelt let alone along the new Confed Line that wouldn’t require a masssssssssive investment to purchase the land and demo existing structures.
The only plausible scenarios are working with either University or outside of the Greenbelt.

Joking about people not having regular access to something as basic and necessary as food isn't funny. It's sick.
The fact that someone has to point that out to you is possibly even more sick.
If you want to go down that rabbit hole, I'm sure there are other places on the internet where that kind of talk is welcome. But I really don't think you've found your audience here, buddy.
