Cblake got a reaction from Bbeto in League 1 Alberta/Prairies
Electric City had pros last season, with Zach Ellis Hayden, Jordon Brown, Jordan Webb that come to mind. Electric City took a really ambitious approach heading to their first season, with a lot of how long would it take to get into CPL. Their president Rob Jenkins who was really pushing it re-signed and as such not sure what the approach is at this point.

Cblake got a reaction from Kent in Northern Super League to launch in April 2025
The next round of NWSL expansion will be $50M US per team. Can see why the argument was made about keeping that money here in Canada. In all honesty, how many NWSL teams would we really have seen in Canada at the price anyways, maybe 2, 3 max. That is a pretty good investment to start with, nothing you would take a flyer on.

Cblake got a reaction from johnyb in Canadians Abroad January 27th to February 2nd
Jebbison has really been impressive so far in today's FA Cup match, has had a few good chances, just needs to finish. Been mentioned a lot by the commentators.

Jebison just went off in the 70th min with a red. It was off the ball, kicked out a Wrexham player that was seen by the 4th official, got to be better than that.

This reminds me very much like SUM was down south, its the success of the National team driving these deals, basically if you want the CMNT you have to take some CPL on the side.

As you can see the salaries in the NWSL have seen growth since their first season in 2013. Wonder where this new Canadian league will be in year one, is there objective to bring all the Canadians home?

I really do not see the Whitecaps being out there front and centre in the initial announcement if it was simply a trial balloon at this point.

Cblake got a reaction from SpursFlu in CPL new teams speculation
It is simony because their arena in Hamilton, First Ontario Centre is going to be closed for two years due to a major renovation. The CEBL similar to the CPL has venue standards and university gyms are not deemed not suitable. Thats the reason the New Foundland team was shut down. CEBL took a chance on the St. John's market hoping that Mile One Arena would become available which it did not due to an ongoing dispute and another team in US league ended up with a lease there. This is not about the two league's against each other, it comes what the market takes to and spends there entertainment dollars there. Canada is an interesting sports market if you look at the sports teams, leagues that have come and gone over the years. There are always ups and downs.

Cblake got a reaction from narduch in 2023 CONCACAF Champions League
Yeah, you could very well be right. LOL Would CONCACAF even approve the other facilities in the Van area. Have to remember it has to be broadcast friendly keeping VAR considerations in mind. It is why TFC ended up playing at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa with Orlando City's stadium unavailable and two other area stadiums were deemed not good enough. Could get interesting.
