There is luck involved in development mostly correlated with opportunity.
Alistair and Cyle had the fortune of going to expansion clubs and were given playing time immediately.
Miller and Layrea were late bloomers and had to move before they found their place in the league.
Buchanon took a couple years to develop and was a sub for most of his first year.
CPL is a good option for young players to get playing time.    NYFC has a lot of homegrown players so it was always going to be difficult for him to displace them.

    Same with Farsi, and Abzi.
Actually all of our fullbacks were wingers/outside midfielders turned defenders.
    Everyone accept Adekugbe.

Don't forget Zator! Out of the names mentioned he may be the next one to break into the national team. So far, he's the only one to have attended a camp, now he's getting TOTW honours in Poland's top flight.

Government website says that the current wait is 23 months, so Rudy might be able to play for us in January '25.
I know you're able to speed up your PR application if you can prove it's time sensitive, I'm not sure if that applies to citizenship too. That said, having your local MP office call Immigration Canada has a magical way of slashing through a ton of red tape, and being that politicians love soccer players, and Quebec loves our French emigrants, he might be able to have this expedited.

I agree with most when saying we should go younger, but adding a depth player like this will definitely make us stronger so I’m all for it
Vitoria started for us very late in his career and it worked out great for us, let’s hope the same with Rudy

one question : how long does it take to apply for a passport after receiving permanent residency?

I remember looking up a Juventus U19 academy team that came to Toronto a few years  ago . I looked at that roster to see where those players were playing now . I think only one was playing in Serie A and the rest were all playing in 3rd division leagues in Italy and even lower , while a few we’re scattered around Europe playing in similar lower division leagues . Therefore, it’s just the nature of pro soccer  no matter if you go through a draft like the MLS or spend all your youth playing days in an pro teams academy, very few end up making it in the end .

Good enough to be a regular starter on one of the top teams in the MLS last year.
Plays regularly with multiple CMNT members.
Plays in the middle of 3 man CBs.
Borjan is still our #1 despite semi-regular bonehead plays. I don't see it as a disqualifier.

Camacho is a great passer if we continue using a 3 man at the back.
A great option with Vitoria when we play 2 games in 4 days.

FWIW, it appears that only Moise Bombito is the only drafted Canadian from this year that likely break an opening day roster.  Undrafted Charles Auguste also appears to be making the roster for Houston Dynamo although someone on Wikipedia has recently changed his nationality to Haitian.  Also, undrafted Kyle Hiebert with St. Louis is the other that appears to be making the opening day roster as well.

We are currently 5th. About 350 points behind Costa Rica and 500 points ahead of Panama. No idea how many poi ts we get for a win.
For the u20s we are ranked 12th!! Barely Pot 3.

Not sure how the Concacaf U17 rankings work but hopefully this mean we will be Top 4 and get Pot 1 for the next tournament

I have to admit, the guy who responded to the tweet asking DeRo if he did his goal celebration dance after he fired off the tweet made me laugh.

It’s a near certainty the CSA would do worse than Herdman. I cant believe there are people who actually think this would work out well for us.

Over the last ten years at the U17 levels we've had players from the Ottawa Internationals, North Toronto Nitros, Ajax Thunder, Mississauga SC, Woodbridge Strikers and WSA Winnipeg, but not from Sigma unless you go all the way back to Chris Nanco in 2011.
At the U20 level we had Bontis and Poku who were from Forge/Sigma and then before that the ex-Sigma players were usually coming from NCAA because Sigma has a really good pipeline in place there.
It might be just my bias but Olivieri selected teams are very MLS-centric.  The 2019 U17 team that he took to Brazil only had Marc Kouadio from outside the big 3.

I was thinking the same thing .  Sigma has been one of the best programs in Canada for years , but have we ever had a Sigma player (on sigma at the time of roster selection) on our roster before?
Also, do youth clubs receive money for players leaving on international duty like the senior teams ?

I'll make an observation.. do our MLS academies ever play competitive matches against other Canadian teams at the u17 level? If not how can people draw comparisons between the players at tfc, vwc, mrl and everyone else. I'm genuinely asking?
