I asked Adonijah Reid some questions about his status before warm ups at the Toronto FC II vs Ottawa Fury game this evening.   (I watched him play over the year's with ANB Futbol of League 1 Ontario in their first years so he recognized me). 
He answered he's still with FC Dallas of MLS and they can recall him.  He said Dallas doesn't have a USL team so this is a way to give him playing time. 
He was on the subs bench but didn't get into the game tonight.

First, your condescension that people here don't understand is entirely untrue.  I think if anyone on here moved to another country and lived there for a significant time, they still wouldn't identify as anything but Canadian.  We get it.
Secondly, if it's true that "he'll never feel more Canadian than from Ivory Coast", then there is no decision to be made.  He should play for the Ivory Coast and should never have pulled on a Canadian kit.  No one would begrudge him that.  However, what he's doing is hedging his bets and that is what people have a problem with.

Poland moves up 4 spots to 6th for beating Romania and Motenegro. The US moves down 12 spots for tying Mexico, beating Ghana and T&T.

I guess this is the lack of passion that Cavallini talks about missing in Canadian soccer. When we could potentially lose a quality player that could help our program, the reaction is to justify the loss and also tell people they are wrong to have strong feelings and passion for this potential change of allegiance.

Fuck that, if a TFC player turns his back on Canada i would shun him. Country over club.

We are starting to get quite a few players in very modest lower divisions in Europe, starting to be a good wide base. Have to hope that some of them start to move up, though in these divisions it is pretty hard to go from a multi-division tier to a single national division, it is a big step up.

Yup Heargreaves was born and raised in Canada, played all his youth soccer here up until the age of 16 so him turning his back on Canada was a disgrace, Begovic , was not born here but came to Canada in his teens, so did not really spend much time in Canada playing youth soccer so I'm not too upset with him , however, knowing how Canada took his family in it was a bit disrespectful the way he eventually turned his back on Canada. This Tomori player left Canada before he could walk so it's a totally different situation for him can't blame him for picking England.

So why give youth team chances to a kid that wont play for us as an adult? What kind of logic is that? If the CDN youth setup is going to coach him, send him out to u-17 tournies etc, it should be at least under a good faith type of understanding that the kid will continue to be Canadian.  If not, how does that help anybody but him?  And scroll up a bit, Tabla has been getting subsidized by the Gov AAP program.  How much more concrete can f#cking cash in your pocket be??  If he says he has every intention of following his dream to play for Ivory coast 4-5 years ago, Feds dont hand him (8 or 9 grand i think) cash to help him on his way to the pros.  
Now play for us or not, its up to him, go ahead and make your choice, but dont take all the advantages you can get from Canada(such as they are) and then jump ship.  Or at least dont be surprised if people are pissed at you for doing it that way.  

I think he deserves his own thread. He seems to have won a starting position with Aalen now, who are currently in 3rd place in the 3rd Bundesliga. He has started the last 4 games, sometimes as a defensive midfielder and sometimes in a more offensive role. He can also play centre back. Kicker has given him quite high ratings in the first 3 games, twice getting 3 (good) and once 2 (very good). The rankings are not out for the 4th game yet. At present Aalen is in a promotion playoff spot but since they started a bankruptcy proceeding this year it may be hard to promote because 9 points will be deducted at the end of the season. They are appealing the point deduction though probably on the grounds that their bankruptcy was caused by a sponsor's bankruptcy not overspending. Earlier this month he also signed a contract extension with the team until summer 2018, he had only signed a one year contract this year. Aalen's sporting director said: "Daniel has developed well in the last weeks and performed convincingly in the games up to now. We still see more potential in him to develop and are happy to be able to include him in our plans for next season". He would be a good candidate for a Gold Cup call up.
