  1. Thanks @Xavier. TBH this is all a moot point. Guald has a long time to go...and things can change with the Whitecaps! Anyone interested in Jake Nerwinski, or a Rudy Camacho 🤭?
  2. Aymeric Laporte was always eligible for Spain before he played for France. So this again doesn’t clear explain it.
  3. This is why TFC need to be in the CPL. …Well that’s not really a clear reason lol, but with all these Canadians Robert is bring in/through ….I love it, I just hope they can perform. Initial signs is they can’t, but here’s hoping to a new season.
  4. Wait why? He was always the projected starter. There won’t be any pressure on the backup in Cornelius either as he’s played more games than Kennedy.
  5. This is so easy to say.... I think they are still trying to dig themselves from the 9 foot grave they initially created with the bad marketing/positioning. The solution isn't to compete with TFC, but to use their gameday experience as a bench mark that is sorely lacking at York U regardless of the minor renos they did. They need to find something intimate, and make it feel like its a home. Pacific, HFX, and Cavalry have all done this.
  6. 100000%....this is how I feel as well. And I didn't entertain the convo when it was happening. He needs to play the classic Messi role where he's lineup up on the outside but has the liberty to roam wherever he needs. His skillset is best utilized running and fronting guys. If he's in the middle, it will be so easy for him to be stifled vs the isolation situations he has on the wing. Maybe if we had another Buchanan, I wouldn't mind Davies there.
  7. Sounds good in theory, but in reality those changes are not going to happen. I would be surprised to see if those two guys were dropped.
  8. Against Belgium. We should deploy some Conte ball and look to hit them on the counter attack with our speed
  9. His manager is the infamous Conte…He’s known for only using veteran players in his squads. Spence’s signing seemed like a Levy one, in the same way Richie wasn’t a Cooper signing.
  10. Part of your post is cynical but okay, curious who do you think are the clear better options? I scratched my head about a guy getting consistent call ups and not producing. Although I did this in the past about Piette and was completely wrong, however those were desperate times. I’m curious, since when did we become soooo good that we can say “you have to be playing in a first division, top 50 European league, and average 70+ minutes” if not you should be overlooked or not considered? Is our pool THAT deep? I think the guys outside of the 20 core guys should be strictly given caps/called into camp based on their club form…
  11. It’s actually funny, and more or less shows that some in this group is more biased than anything and it’s less about actual football knowledge or simply some just don’t want to admit they turn a blind eye because you can play U21 premier league ball and get call ups….oh that was a long time ago. Wait…You can play D3 in England and still get call ups, get minutes, have average performances and still be in the team today. As a fan, I hold all players accountable to what they do in their given playing time. I can’t dog on one guy, and completely forget the other guy. I can’t act as if a guy hasn’t had barely any minutes when another has and the results are comparable. Give this kid a break. He wasn’t the result of us not getting full points in a game, or costing a place in the next round or something… Compare this apple to the other like apple my friends.
  12. This is also valid for someone else in the squad that has way more apps then him…but we all turn a blind eye.
  13. Anybody who watched Tajon at the Olympic qualifiers and seen the season he was having at New England would’ve known he was going to be there. At least I did. I remember getting crucified for saying he was better than a said player, and he overtook him with a few performances. Kone was the only surprise. We were still in the time of if you were performing/playing in MLS you were getting called up. You gotta look at who those guys replaced for a better perspective.
  14. Im actually surprised those guys haven’t been given a call to an MLS camp as a trialist or something. I think they both are quality players with the ability of playing at the next level. …but the reality is they wouldn’t be worth an international spot.
  15. bulletin material, which part? No way our goal is to make it the semi finals, absolutely no way. Our target must be to leave the group.
  16. Shut up, we only speak of slander here!
  17. Interesting. I don’t know what his best skillset is…Do you? To me he’s a great utility player
  18. Might be his last contract, as this one takes him to the age of 32. Does anyone think he’ll be around for the WC26?
  19. Harsh reality. I also don’t think he’s a game changer or difference maker to warrant a Bustos, Bakker style contract. Sadly I think he’ll try other leagues before going to the CPL…Let’s hope that by the time he gets there he isn’t completely washed.
  20. The real "impossible" tough leap frogs are Davies, David, Tajon, and Hoilett....Millar I think is at the airport but his flight could be cancelled. And recent friendlies may have indicated something to strengthen that he could be battling with Corbeanu for that ticket. I would love to see by the Nations league or Gold Cup some new faces, but the reality is we could see this be the send off for guys like Atiba, Borjan, and Vitoria as their final swan song.
  21. Damn I forgot about my boy Rich. Happens when you don’t play at noticeable levels. I was hoping he would be integrated into the system post WC, but I don’t believe their will be much change if we’re not in both the Gold Cup and the Nations League finals to force squad rotation.
  22. Like Floyd Mayweathter used to say, people pay to cheer me and some people to pay watch me lose. But at the end of the day they are all fans. Thats the way I see his comments as. He knows a lot about the CPL than the average poster here. He wants the league to succeed, but justs heavily scrutinizes it when the opportunity presents itself.
