  1. This approach would be just as sad. It would continue the narrative of only scouting from the 3 MLS clubs. We aren’t strapped for cash like that. I refuse to believe that.
  2. We all agree. At this point we all are doing this...
  3. Like the rest of club soccer albeit Toronto FC in Ontario. I like that they started this, as it brings more notoriety to the club and hopefully it will help with development. I wish more CPL clubs would do this, so that a greater pathway is created, and a better funnelling of players happens nation wide.
  4. Here's mine: GK: Borjan, St. Clair, Pantemis DF: Vitoría, Miller, Johnston, Cornelius, Henry, Waterman, Adekugbe, Laryea MF: Hoillet, Eustaquio, Piette, Kone, Hutchinson, *Osorio, Kaye, Wotherspoon FW: Davies, David, Larin, Cavallini, Buchanan, Ugbo, Corbeanu *I reserve the right to make one change based on Osorio's availability before the date.
  5. Thank you. I've said this so many times! International ball is always about current form, what are you doing now! and less about your future potential. Levels are taken into account, but imo if you're not playing in the top 5 leagues...it starts getting murky when you start comparing the lower leagues. Like what's Dutch D2 to EFL League 1, what's the SPFL to the Swiss League, or what's the Greek Super League to the 2. Bundesliga or to Ligue 2. If you start looking at coefficients to get a better perspective it starts getting really dicey. For example Theo Bair is playing in a "better ranked league" on a mid table team and is performing at the same rate as some of these guys but doesn't get a mention. Why? Diyadinne Abzi is playing in Ligue 2 with Pau, getting some decent minutes in his first season and won't probably get a sniff while Derek Corneilius is being considered in the squad while playing in the first division in Greece. Why? It comes down to skillsets, form, and how have they previously done when given opportunities. The coaching staff could be looking at those 3 guys (Brym, Corbeanu, and Millar) and say if given 5-10 minutes which one of these guys are more likely to contribute an assist or score a goal, and will look at the optics, current and past performances to make that decision, and less about where they are currently playing. Corbeanu is an easy pick for me, I keep referencing the game against Mexico when he came on and he just showed how tenacious he can be, the other two guys are a toss up because neither of them have done anything significant in a Canada jersey where I can say this one is clearly better or can be a game changer.
  6. Did anyone make their list, to see how much they get right? Someone will get it 100% right.
  7. It’s weird, are you not allowed to source the image? Is it a Canada soccer Flickr thing or a Wikipedia thing?
  8. Cool story but who is who. I’m confused because this sounds like you should’ve posted this in someone else’s thread. Both those guys have done well when they’ve got their limited opportunities playing for the CMNT. Specifically Brym, nothing spectacular nothing lacking. We need bonafide attackers/playmakers and less two-way players with the plethora of defensive wide options we have in Adekugbe, Laryea, Johnston, and the additional options in Davies, Buchanan, and Hoilett. Based on the last camp, and who played. I still think the battle is down to 2 of 3 guys in Brym, Corbeanu, and Millar….and current form regardless of level, might determine who makes it in. So I won’t be surprised if 1 of those guys aren’t included as none of them are “locks”.
  9. seems like he's still DTD. And in football that status isn't feasible. Damn, Oso is one of my guys hope he can pull through.
  10. Don't be surprised when he makes the final roster.
  11. This displayed how Americans live in their bubble on multiple occasions in this episode. So many egregious statements from the seller, to the buyer, down to the expert lol.
  12. As an Arsenal fan, me too. I’m surprised Bremmer got in over him considering how both are performing in their respective leagues.
  13. Both him and Tajon got favourable draws.
  14. Make it make sense first. This is such a naive statement considering he is our best player, and he also happens to be one of the best in the game. So if course there’s going to be a media shitstorm it goes without saying.
  15. but this is also called "Key passes".
  16. Rightfully so. They are different players. Ugbo borderlines on the same game as Larin, he doesn't stretch the line as we thought/it was mentioned. Cavallini will bang. He's completely different to what we have/deploy. So it's not hard for him. With Cavallini and VAR your just hoping he doesn't get a red, because he's a striker that seems to love a tackle as much as he loves to score a goal.
  17. I kinda dislike those "expected" stats. It borderlines on the fantasy vs actualities of the game. My wife expects me to last over 10 minutes, but reality is it can be just 2 mins.
  18. Sorry if I missed this… But where are they playing?
  19. Michael Baldisimo sweepstakes might be on for the BC teams.
  20. me too...But I believe JH will give those guys a run first before eventually bringing on Kone.
  21. By moot, I mean hypothetical. The reality is he could be gone before he's stayed long enough. I've done this too many times with guys in the past, only for them to leave and thats it. Trust me I don't think we are too good for D2 dutch players...
