  1. When keeping it real goes wrong. Sadly. As a field reporter with a political message in a foreign country that you want the world to know about, you can’t be a lone wolf. Super sad, but also not surprised. RIP. Grant and Ives was the guys who made me understand MLS & American soccer.
  2. I just hope its Netherlands. I despise Argentina.
  3. Calling them dual nats is very loose to me. Because in that case the entire national team other than Waterman is "dual nats"...and I don't see them as such. They are Canadian, with a different culture or upbringing due to ancestry. -Eustaqiuo born in Canada spent his early years in the country before moving to Portugal at age 7. He was the massive coup, probably due to how his career was going at the time. -Ugbo played soccer for 2 famed clubs in woodbridge and brampton east for a short period before moving back to England. -David was only born in the USA, but played his entire amateur career in Canada. -Akinola was born in the USA, and moved by age 5 but played has played his entire footy career in Canada. If you know his story, you'll hear what Canada has done for him. Jaden De Guzman is the son of a Dutch international, and dutch mom who's also born and raised in Netherlands, and has only visited Canada as vacation to see his grandparents. Canada would only be a backup option. There's a reason why we didn't get Ferdi, and it's probably the same reason why we didn't get Omar. We need to focus on NOT losing guys like Yankov, Mitrovic, Flores first! and then worry about the hail marys. IMO.
  4. By the end of next year, I feel like this ranking will change significantly. But they could have the qualification requirements already determined before the Gold Cup.
  5. Hoping he signs with the some guarantees, because playing every week is underrated Vs a little pay increase and sitting on the bench.
  6. They still are basketball crazy. And the average height of a man there is 5’4, I tell my in-laws that their people love the wrong sport. Try soccer. When I was there in August everyone thought I was an NBA player to the extent I just went with it lol. They were trying to organize a game with the towns best player. little did they know I’m shit, and they weren’t going to know it🤣
  7. Is this a step up? Step up for club, but what about the overall league?
  8. Silly offseason is here! Scheduling friendlies based on immigration numbers seems silly...no? Why do we want to schedule home games with the idea that the visiting team would have potentially more support? But if we're playing this game....I pick the Philippines National team. They support anything, and anyone that is Pinoy, and there is a lot of them all around Canada nicely intertwined with Canadian culture.😁
  9. I was hoping that this tournament would be somewhere other than the USA...but whatever I'll take it. We need the preparations for the next world cup. I just hope they don't price out the fans....
  10. lol why.....Canada only has a few games. Not much practice is needed. And the attitude shows when they consider hosting the tournament solely in the US as prep.
  11. Well as a club legend and as long as his dad is the director and coach….he’ll be alright.
  12. That kid is Dutch, with Canadian ancestry. Im sorry but my attention will only be focused on guys who have played in the country. We’ve lost way too much talent, for that trend to continue. And as much as a melting pot Canada is, we need to stop that first before worrying about kids who’s only affiliation to the country is through ancestry.
  13. But we did this exactly too….WHEN we played with 3 in the middle. I don’t get why Herdman felt that we could go 3-4-3. Did we ever play that in qualifying.
  14. We need more of our own! De Guzman struggled to me, but he’s growing in the role.
  15. Do you think Bobby wouldn't bring some guys with him, as part of his backroom staff? Typically managers do. At least 1 or 2 guys.
  16. My starting line wouldn't have Davies from deeper but in a front 3 Davies - David- Buchanan. (Specifically for the World Cup, Concacaf is different as teams are better equip than us. It makes no sense for Davies to have 4 guys in front of him that he thinks he can take on. I said from September or October that we need to play to our strengths. We should've setup better defensively to abosrb and atacks, and to allow our best players to explode with the speed on the counter attack ala Conte ball is what I specifically said. David being Harry Kane, dropping in to recieve or hold up, while spraying outwide to Davies or Buchanan who would have 2 guys at the most in front of them. Larin/Cavallini as target men work in Concacaf. As we saw on the grand stage, they don't.
  17. I initially responded to this..... and I said this...... If reference to "we have attacking depth".... I cynically said Akinola, ignoring Ugbo who is a mention but not a threat and neither is Cavallini. @dyslexic nam and @El Hombre took my response to the initial quote out of context and were mentioning prospects. We have prospects in every position imo. So you're sort of saying what I'm saying in the sense that we can't afford to move David into a 10 as it would take any "real" quality that we have up top. Ugbo is still unproven, and Cavallini (although I love the guy) is not fit anymore (pun intended) to lead the line.
  18. You make a great point. However they should get minutes regardless of Nancy going there. They had good performances whenever they got the opportunity, and Columbus is going through a little rebuild again.
  19. Rest up my guy. Be ready and fit to go in March.
  20. While I agree, you guys are listing off prospects no? Because none of these guys your "relying" on to score today or moving David into the 10 to compensate. Of both lists, only Jebbo could make it into the squad today....and that's only for one specific reason at the moment. So let's do that style list with the CMs then too... Victor Loturi Justin Smith Jayden Nelson Matthieu Choiniere Kosi Thompson Lucas Dias Sean Rea Are any of these guys in the near months going to push out the likes of Kaye, Piette, Wotherspoon? This is in addition to having CMs already in the program like the young Kone and Fraser. So as much as I like the idea of JoDa playing in the hole behind a striker, I don't think it changes much other then us deploying a 3-5-1-1. Because I;m not taking off any of our midfielders to slot him in there, and have Ike and Larin in front.
  21. We talk a lot about CM, and CB lacking depth….but what about ST depth? Whos next after Larin(28) and David? Akinola? 😳
  22. In all seriousness the release and statements sounds like a non-profit organization. I’m really interested in how this is going to work, and who is going to be willing to be a philanthropist - need some wealthy Canadian women.
  23. I only consider them a lost if they played any soccer in Canada. That means they were developed by "us" in some kinda of way. Koleosho would be a loss for the USA. And a "gain" for us.
  24. These are all important names, two of which I would consider losses (Jebbison and Lucas) funny enough I was just talking to the guy who got Daniel his trials in England. Sad thing is not one is a centerback.
