  1. Lol you picked a rare game where they went for it from the lineup that was put out. In that game, they started with Moratta, Griezman, and Correa. In the reverse fixture it was Moratta and Greizman in a 352....but as stated, Griezman loves to drop in, and free roam. They rarely played a flat 352.
  2. Atleti hasn't been a club to "load up"on talent per se. They have their system, and fill guys in accordingly. Out goes Herrera in comes De Paul. The only time we've seen them spend big and it not "workout" for them has been Lemar. So I agree, maybe they are looking at him as a Greizman replacement. I personally feel that in a better league, he could be a more dangerous player as a second striker rather than a traditional 9.
  3. No, Correa plays a lot of lone striker, with Griezman free roaming in behind. They usually play a 3-5-2-1 or a 5-4-1. Correa also has only scored more than 10 goals in a season once in his near 10 year stay, which reiterates my stance that Atleti needs a more traditional #9 for their style to be successful again. Think Nunez, Vlahovic, G.Ramos, Isak, Boniface....less Alvarez, Jota, Callum Wilson, Jesus, Werner. IMO...of course.
  4. Diego Simeones Atleti squads have only been successful with outlet target strikers. Strikers who can create for themselves and battle 1v1 with a CB in transition as they play their defensive low-block style. I just can't see David doing well in that system. David vs Ruddiger, Militao, Araujo, or Kounde... It would be a great challenge.
  5. In no way is Heibert better than Kennedy, or even Waterman. That's the shocker for me. Brym, and Bair are probably on auditions and because they are in Holland/Scotland made it easier for them to be called. I think JRR ultimately ends up in the Copa squad.
  6. Man just wanted his summer off. I'm surprised he didn't retire after the tournament.
  7. Glass bottles in the stadium...
  8. Do you think Mexicans will show up for their women's team and do the puto chant? I highly doubt it.
  9. But, but ....with Kevin Blue all things are new!
  10. Where tf is the list. The wait better be a good reason.
  11. All it takes is for a goal keeper to be given that one opportunity. His size, and footwork/distribution has been a revelation. I've always said with Borjan not being the #1 anymore that the GK position is up for grabs. I have a lot of pool on the same level, but with Crepeau slightly above just based on experience.
  12. I think he will do well in the championship. As someone who's followed him all season, and seasons before I think his style of play will suit that league. His technique, skill isn't elite, but his speed, physicality, and confidence to find the net will bode well in that league.
  13. This is the most logical answer. Parallels @Atlantic crossing the t's and dotting the i's. Buttt he's been named to the roster before,THAT shouldn't hold up a roster release.
  14. This isn't wwe royal rumble. At some point it would be too many forwards, and guys would need game time to actually show out... can't rely on practice superstars.
  15. Yea I would, love to include Jebbison in the friendly camps to see what's up. But I wouldn't want to automatically include him in the Copa because he's played 3 EPL games. It would be a slap in the face to the guys who had a consistent good season. Like could you drop Bair, or JRR, for Jebbo? I'm not really high on Ugbos game, so I would be more inclined to dropping him....but it's tough. Form over potential for me.
  16. it would be a lot easier if we saw the preliminary squads, but since we don't let's speculate if it's someone new vs someone known. I vote someone known. Meaning it could be Daniel Jebbisson.
  17. Has the UEFA, CAF and Conembol teams been confirmed?
  18. Considering the Copa squad is 26, a large squad has to be 30+ guys no?
  19. And I think that's what everyone is trying to do. It's the only reason why I put him at LB. For me I just want Davies higher up, with a manager who doesn't let him play hero ball all the time. 1v1 I've rarely seen Millar get beat, and he has the work rate to be up and down. The same way Laryea is effective. ( @costarg that's another player who went from winger to fullback and has been successful.)
  20. Dani Alves was a dangerous winger before moving to Barcelona to play fullback. Point is there's a lot more cases of these, and it isn't crazy.
  21. You can't sincerely mean this? Currently they both play the same position, but Tajon is more skillful, more dangerous 1v1 or going forward. Theres a reason why Tajon is at Inter, and Millar is at PNE, but somehow we can suggest the latter to play in front of the former? It screams of when Bale played behind Niko Kranjcar because Redknapp wanted to get Kranjcar on the field somewhere.
  22. You'd be surprised, it's not that complicated. A lot of wingers become fullbacks because their offensive output isn't the same or consistent. It's an age old debate that most fullbacks are failed wingers.
