  1. What word would you describe him as?
  2. Yea you got them on the league....but the Voyageurs cup, and the League Cup
  3. Bump. It's clear, everyone's predictions were way off. Especially when it came to Cavalry.
  4. As the CPL grows, I think the conversation needs to be had that the CPL deserves to be included in that tournament. They are the only league that isn't included in a continental qualifier for the CCC. I think it would be massive for the league, regardless of the result. The exposure, prestige will favour the league rather than hurt it.
  5. He either goes for "cheap" in his last year or he runs down his contract. The big club asks that he wants, might have to take a second thought. I watch Brighton play, and think he would do very well there before another move.
  6. For a second I was like, holy time flies Theo is already 24 now. He's an attacker who's still only 21, with a lot to learn. That part of the game you can teach, being skillful and tenacious is innate.
  7. I mean you could've added one more guy to make it the standard 23 lol. But I like this list, I would only make a few changes. - I'll add Brym to this list - Adekugbe is out for me at this time, I'll swap him for Bombito. I liked his versatility and what we saw at the GC - I like Nelson a lot, but I'll swap him for Corbeanu who I like more. - Millar for Ugbo. Let Millar continue to gel with his club. And also we haven't seen Ugbo in awhile. - I want to somehow out Fraser in, but it just won't work. Starting XI looks like. -------------Crepeau-------- Johnston--Corneilius----Miller Buchanan---Kone-Staq----Davies -------------Choniere------------ ----------David----Ugbo------- For the 4 in the back lovers... ----------------Crepeau------------ Johnston--Corneilius-(c)Miller--Laryea ----------Eustaqiuo--Kone---------- Buchanan------David--------Davies ---------------Ugbo---------------- Squad needs to get younger, and the younger squad needs experience.
  8. 3 of the 4 you named, were probably not in consideration. Wotherspoon is definitely not.
  9. Yea I had him pencil in as a call up for October, but at who's expense?
  10. I agree. As things are going right now, it doesn't make sense to call in Adekugbe given what you've stated. I don't have him in my 23, but he has 4 games before the friendly to turn it around. Also it all depends on the formation being played. If it's 3, in the back I don't think he replaces adekugbe. There are a few guys who are already currently playing that in Davies, and Millar.
  11. Yea hopefully sooner rather than later...he's lost in the world of Roblox right now.
  12. This is mine too... Lukas I think is currently injured.
  13. I would love to call him in, but for me, he's in a battle with his other CPL alumni brothers in MacNaughton, and Waterman.
  14. The last part is very important. I used to play FIFA religiously - I had every version since 2002 up until I became a father 5 years ago. From that time, I tried to like UT because it was becoming very popular, but I just couldn't get behind the whole fantasy aspect.......I can't imagine what it is now with social media influence.
  15. I sadly called it. I see the caps dropping out of a playoff spot...
  16. The October squad list should be interesting considering a lot of vets aren't in form (Adekugbe, Osorio, Vitoria, Hoilett). And a lot of guys who haven't been called deserve a call like Choiniere, Raposo, Corbeanu. ...I want to think Biello will mix things up.
  17. He committed to a couple camps. That's the "What if"
  18. I'll admit, I think this loss will hurt more, because there's the "what if" aspect. But we move on, the next one is somewhere out there.
  19. Bez spent a lot of money where he could (Gilberto, Defoe, Altidore, Bradley). He was successful because he wrote the GAM/TAM rules for the league so he knew exactly how to manage his team correctly. I would think he's a great fantasy manager, because he's able to pick whoever at his disposal while knowing players. The national team isn't that, you have what you have.
  20. I think you're spot on. What you didn't mention is that typically the #10 is the best player on the field. But I also know historically and culturally Canada doesn't produce this kind of player. In my 15 years of watching the men's and youth teams I can only think of a few players who have fit that role/played that style, and it's Osorio(barely), and Aleman (they both happen to be Latin-Canadian) What you're suggesting needs to be done at grassroots, or implemented into younger ynt because our best players have always been attackers. So much so, that some get converted to defenders. Even today, this is still true. So unless an Argentine coach is going to find us a #10 out of nowhere then great, but based on everything you said, that style coach wouldn't fit our current personnel, and if that's what we are hiring based on, then we need a coach from France.
  21. No way. The statement just went out that the GS has to be signed first right?
  22. I was going through FIFA's top 50 rankings, and looking at the head coaches and where they are from and I found some interesting findings. 86% of the head coaches were native or played for the nation they are coaching. The only coaches in Europe (in the top 50) to not have a native coach is Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, and Turkey. Only Belgium was in the WC - and they bombed. 50% of those non native coaches are coached by an Argentinian. (Chile, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Colombia, Uruguay). It seems as if there is an unwritten rule for a lot of federations to employ "one of their own". Somebody mentioned Alen Marcina, and it had me thinking... of all the Canadian "active" managers from the list below, who would be the most ideal. Alen Marcina Wilfred Nancy Marc Dos Santos Mauro Biello Frank Yallop Bobby Smyrniotis Marc Watson Jason Bent Jim Brennan ....The list is very thin
  23. Facts. I think the gap is actually bigger in the starting XI comparison. If we made a combined 11, I think only 3 Canadians make it in - Davies, David, and Staq. (Mexico is 11 v 11 comparable.) But the USA is building a team with some great depth that could make some serious noise at their WC26.
  24. Yea it's all facts, but this happens in world football too. (2021 Europa League Final - Man United Vs Villareal) fans shouldn't care about the GM optics, unless that spending affects ticket prices. Money ball has been happening for a while now, and big spending has been too. I feel like it's pointless to mention it.
  25. Exact reason why you talk out of your oxford ass. You had the audacity to try to get at me for insults, but you continue do the very same things you say others do. Yes Javier has acted as if Argentinians are gods gift to football, but so have you in regards to Spanish football. Your takes have been beyond egregious of lately. But hey I'm the king of insults.
