  1. Your assessment is right, but I highly doubt the bolded part. He's only 30 and is probably in his prime as a CB, but unless the new coach comes in and is willing to assess the entire pool properly then there's a possibility. Can't see Biello calling him back.
  2. Good luck to him. He's in the same boat as Doneil in the sense both guys look heavy and can't move as they once were.
  3. I get it but they are called the Van Isle Wave, and don't play under the same Pacific FC logo and gear. It's like Crown FC and Charlotte FC. Do you count Sigma FC for Forge FC too?
  4. Last time I checked was a few years ago. But I believe a few CPL teams have active academies. York United has 2 U-18 teams that play in the OSL U21 Provincial league, and Regional leagues. Those leagues typically run from May to September, and they play in the pro teams branding. ...I wonder what the rationale is in them not having a team in L1O, but regardless I like how they have some youth presence unlike Forge FC (and Sigma doesn't count for me regardless of the affiliation). Cavalry FC has a U-21 team in League 1 Alberta which off of quick glance is built like a u-18 team. Play in the pro teams branding. Valour FC - no academy team HFX Wanderers have a select U21 team, I'm not sure if they play an actual season. But they play in the pro teams branding. Pacific have an affiliate program with multiple teams that play season, however not in Pacifics branding. Atletico Ottawa have a select program, and I don't believe they have a team that plays a season. Out of the 8 teams 3 teams have academy setups.
  5. Isn't that Orlando? Galesese or whatever? Inter Miami keeper isn't bad either. I think a team in need is New England, and Portland.
  6. Front three of Brooks - Bevan - Musse, Cavs are getting stronger.
  7. Possibly. 40K USD or 40K CAD Definitely not. Equal opportunities, it's just faster to play at a higher level in a given season. I will say the commitment to the players is less likely. These MNP teams seem like they are long term trials, but after a year you will be looking for a new situation if you haven't adequately impressed.
  8. This is the MLS today. I have no issue with conferences even if it means some teams play others more. BUT.... I draw the line at teams in a single league not playing eachother at all and awarding a "regular season" winner....MLS today.
  9. Uhhh this is MLS today. And "travel" isn't a reason. TFC don't play LAFC, Galaxy, Sounders, RSL, Earthquakes or the Timbers in regular season play, and chances are slim for leagues cup bullshit. So imo the supporters shield has lost so much value.
  10. I disagree. Millar has always had the work rate to go up and down. And Davies would be in the position he plays week in and out. I think it would just need time. I do agree that we need a 6 because both Kone and Staq are 8s.
  11. outside of the playoffs, I don't think Carducci is better than Henry and there's stats that show (outside of cs) However, I agree that it is heavily playoff influenced because Badinga wasn't better than Sellouf in the regular season.
  12. I think the only argument would be Bevan for Campbell. Anyone else from the Cavs would be reaching. Sellouf I would put in over Badinga.
  13. They all signed 2-year deals in 22, so I'll assume their contracts expired and are now exploring their options but will have Forge as fallback options.
  14. In comes Bev Priestman as head coach, and Canada makes history and shows how truly receptive to change we are!
  15. I could've sworn he was a FW. And I'm willing to give that spot to Loturi or Paton. More so Loturi because we need a "stay at home" destroyer to free up Staq. EDIT: seems like we are both right. I still don't feel like we NEED his skillset, Kone and Staq are both creators they need help in the holes of the transition game.
  16. He's going to do some serious work in the Serie A. Finally got a reason to watch that league.
  17. Not so sure. @BearcatSA was touching on it. But let's explore how the lineup would be in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. -----------David-------- Millar-------------Buchanan -------Kone---X----Staq Davies--Miller--Derek--Laryea -------------Borjan-------------- The glaring omission is our top goal scorer Larin. And we are still figuring out who comes into that X position in midfield. But I think this could be a really nice lineup. ---------------Larin----------- Millar---------David-------Buchanan ----------Kone--------Staq------- Davies----Miller-----Derek----Laryea -----------------Milan------------ I've been a big fan of the 352 because I think it's the best formation, and it gets our best players on the pitch. However looking at the last lineup, I now think this 4231 could be the lineup that gets all our best players on the field.
  18. It's a good point. Regaining form is supposed to happen at the club level, and then hope it translates to the national team. Club form is what is supposed to be the gauge for players to earn their call up.
  19. ----------Larin-------David------- Davies----Kone--x--Eustaqiuo----Buchanan -----Miller----Corneilius-----Johnston ---------------Crepeau---------- For me, not much should and will be changed. The X is the only person who I think is undecided based on the formation we have played...and it could be anyone from Paton, Osorio, Choinierre, Ahmed, or Piette. The reality is, it's been 2 years and there hasn't been a prospect that has emerged the way Tajon or Alistair did. Maybe it will happen in the mid 2024. Lastly I will say, if Davies isn't playing well he should not be exempt from being subbed for someone like Millar. And that should apply to everybody.
  20. I think this can be said about a lot of our guys albeit for maybe Larin...surprisingly. Davies, Staq, Tajon, Allistair, David, were all key and pivotal pieces in us qualifying for the WC... and all those guys I have listed have collectively struggled in the past 4 games.
  21. MLS fucked up royally by making the statement they made. Majority of the teams already have two separate teams, owned by the same owners in a "separate league" - which is stupid. All they need to do is increase the roster sizes of MLS clubs from 30-45. In those spots designate them as "Next Pro" or whatever and the players get paid less than the reserve minimum salary. This way they stop having to use those stupid 5 day contracts for academy players when they need them on a MLS roster, and they wouldn't need to play a "different" team in the cup competition but rotate the same squad. MLS next pro is an academy league with some overaged players.
