  1. Record goal scorer (modern Ligue 1 history) too. Lille also has a history of making a profit on all their players. Just look at the past 5 years...Gabriel Maghalese, Oshimen, Leao, Onana, Botman, and Pepe. They'll definitely cash in.
  2. To me he's always been #3. I think based on his trajectory and consistent improvement he could easily be the best within in the next year or two. Reality is, Davies is so elite that he really hasn't improved much YoY. David has been consistently up and down but still a high class player. These guys can both get significant moves (like Madrid or Newcastle per se) and it could completely change the narrative....but today, I think Tajon can be the best.
  3. At first I was like wtf Javier, then was like...oh okay 🤣
  4. It's almost like his agent is like "hey I got you there"....but not realizing it was horrible situations for his development. Less we forget, he has UK citizenship so it should be "easy" to get him in a good situation.
  5. In other news, I wish I had the power to close this thread because it's obvious it ain't happening. But mods, feel free too....
  6. I'm seeing 205$ for the flight, 200$ for a hotel with breakfast....wtf is that other 300$ coming from?
  7. Now this is true, and less math.
  8. The "half" is the remaining 6 months of this year...I would assume Lille will be actively looking to sell him immediately because it might be smart to ride out his contract and then "pick" his club. It would be terrible business from Lille, but there hands could be tied if there isn't any suitors soon.
  9. Inter signed Tajon with the plan that Dumfries would be sold now or in the summer knowing his contract expires next year. They are a cash-strapped club, and just got his replacement for peanuts. I can bet that Inter are going to give Tajon an ample amount of opportunities to succeed, and I won't be surprised when he does.
  10. The memories those kids will have. Hopefully the influence made will have us looking back on this video and saying our next superstar was in the video with Davies.
  11. This has been happening for years. I remember playing my heart out in one of these in 2016 lol, I wasnt expecting to see the names I saw then like Raheem, MAK, Babouli, Jordan Webb, Jonke Bros, Peters, Ornoch, Joey Melo, Chapman, Nana, and a lot more. So I'm not surprised to hear that a lot of guys play in those money Christmas money tournaments. It's typically 5K for the winner (sometimes the two finalist agree to split pot) split between 8-9 guys. $500 is good Christmas money for some of a lot of these guys on low wages.

And this is why you take the money when you can. Imagine betting on yourself, he has a career season and wins his team the championship on a last ditch tackle but in the process he does his knee in and it takes over a year to recover. After he recovers his team doesn't pickup up his contract option and he has to find another team willing to pay him what he had before. This is the story of Crepeau, not saying he had double his money contract offers wherever...but to show that life moves at you quickly and at the end of the day professional football is a job where the chances are you won't see that same money when the games done with you. ....But overall I understand your sentiment of the "cop out", I just call it "cash out".
  13. If Saliba has a good start to the season, I could see him leaving in the summer. He is Priso before the injury.

Did I miss something in the article? None of that was stated or asked, or are you going off the premise of him declining a call last year?
  15. While I understand this view point, we called in Brym who was playing in Dutch D2, Fraser who was playing in Belgium D2, Russell-Rowe who barely had any output in MLS, Akinola who hasn't scored a goal in over a year, Paton and Loturi playing in the same league...and then even at this current time, some are calling for Colyns inclusion in for his Dutch D2 performances. As I've always stated, the national team call-ups should be based on first are you "elite" to Canada (Larin, David, Davies, Staq, Buchanan, Kone) and the second thing being how is your current form. We have a lot of potential around the world, very few playing in elite leagues. So when someone's in form over a stretch period they should get a look.
  16. I think this is a lie. I've watched him a lot this season and at times he's looked like that's all he had was effort and intensity but was lacking the goals.
  17. I think I disagree. Outside of Larin and David (our proven strikers/goal scorers) there isn't much obstacles ahead of him. Worked for me, you probably just didn't wait?
  18. Ill take the odds on Cesare getting the call before Luca
  19. I also I realized this, I had a quick revelation that showed me 2023 was a really disappointing year for Canada Soccer. We didn't have much to be proud about considering the 2022 high we were on for both programs. These highlights were a desperate display of it. Here's to hoping 2024 is revolutionary.
  20. Looking back on that video, and I think his goal and Davies are genuine candidates for the best GOAL. Considering the magnitude of those games.......and all the rest imo are goal sequences. Considering the majority of the nominees - the "wow" factor was before the goal was scored (aka the assist) is the reason why it made it to the top 10. But it was a great finish, or great individual goal like Shaff.
  21. Was so unselfish of him. Great game, and I hope his second half of the season is even better. https://streamin.me/v/c278aa4d
  22. https://streamin.me/v/d51333f9 Here's the first one.
  23. Just scored his second goal, and it was a beauty. Sadly it's only the SPFL 🤪. https://streamin.me/v/957c96ff
  24. I saw that but only found that it was training/camps and not necessarily teams.
