  1. Here's me waiting to see if you get vilified, called futile, or state that you live under a rock in Riggs Moor.
  2. My thinking is, we bring in the new crop of young guys and replace the old guard with a new leadership group of "Larin, Miller, Johnston, Staq, Davies, and David". We win vs T&T with the young boys in the Theos, Bombito, and Choniere in the 23 and were in the Copa and ready to gain a great experience in preparation for 2026. If we lose, we are out of the Copa and can schedule friendlies with the same core to prepare for 2026. There is no way the goal is to win the Copa if we get there. So bringing Borjan, Vitoria, Hoilett, Cavallini and Piette would be utterly pointless for the future of the program.
  3. I don't think anyone here thinks Biello thinks else wise. I still thinks he wants to steady the ship, and keep the status quo especially as the "Interim Manager (Rafa Benitez voice)". My squad suggestion was me laying out our current best players...if I did a squad prediction Hoilett, Vitoria, Piette and Borjan are all in it - I just think it's a waste.
  4. Yea and I'm coming around to this too....Colyn is the next 10 we have. I think Nelson could play there too. But if I'm saying to get rid of the old guard then I guess I have to include Osorio in that too.
  5. Do you mean like how Shaffelburg came off the bench against the USA (way better team than T&T) drove at the defence, scored, and took the lead? We gotta stop living in the past, and prepare with the future...which is now.
  6. I'm torn on Osorio because he's a player that we don't have unless we want to mold David into a 10. It's a bit contradictory for you to say no Brym but you want to Colyn when the latter plays in an inferior league. Nelson I want to see him as well...but as a winger there's a few options ahead of him in Davies, Buchanan, Corbeanu, Millar, Laryea. LDF....he's one for the future, I don't think he's ready yet because for starters he's barely playing U21 and he isn't playing at all for Fulham. I rather take a look at Pos who has experience rather than give a shot to a guy who hasn't played professional minutes.
  7. Some of the fringe guys are the old guard. Cavallini, Hoilett... You start off your point by keeping some but then end with focusing on 2026. The old guard won't be around for that, so your last part contradicts itself.
  8. I think he was given his moment with Canada, and that was at the World Cup. I love Borjan's commitment to the national team and Canada...it can't be understated. But his lingering around is like how Buffon lingered around for Italy. Yes, you are still playing, yes you can still do a fill-in job, but there comes a time when you have to pass the torch especially when you're not playing at superior levels. Ochoa is a direct comparison...he's 38 and still starting for a Serie A team. If that was Borjan than the argument for him would be completely different.
  9. I believe the pathways have been created. We need camps and international tournaments that we need to have/be in. The 2018 Toulon tournament we had 5 players who are now active senior NT players. Our friendly when we beat England U20 in 2016 had Davies, Fraser and Godinho, while England had Rashford, Greenwood, Winks, and Tomori* Some players will be promising and continue to the next level, while some players will simply fade out...the point is they got a look and were apart of the program at some point.
  10. Wait...I didn't even realize Ahmed was back playing this weekend. However, I don't know who I would drop for him because he's more of an 8 than a 6. So right now, it would be between him and Choinierre. I think Fraser has done really well whenever he's been called upon with the CMNT. He's 26 yo, mature, and now getting minutes at the MLS level when he was being questioned as to why he was being called up to play Belgium D2. I also realized that outside of Fraser (and Piette), we don't have many number 6-style players. Kone, Staq, Ahmed, Choinierre, Osorio are all guys who like to get into the final 3rd.
  11. It's now not later for me. Or in with the new and out with the old. Whatever way you want to spin it, we need change to prepare for 2026... and Copa will be the only experience those players will get because friendlies against tier 1 opponents will be few and far between because of availability. So for me, I'm dropping Borjan, Vitoria, Hoilett, and Cavallini. The way we didn't see a send off tour for Atiba, these guys can respectively get a "thanks for your time" moment no grander than our most capped player. With that in mind. Here's my 23 for the play-in. Bair, Bombito, Buchanan, Choiniere, Corbeanu, Corneilius, Crepeau, David, Davies, Eustaqiuo, Fraser, Johnston, Kone, Larin, Laryea, McGraw, Millar, Miller, Osorio, Pos, St. Clair, Ugbo Starting XI:
  12. ...if anything I would move Larin to the top and someone else in behind the striker. I don't really like this because our midfield is too vulnerable. Staq and Kone are the future, but they need someone else in there with them because as we saw against Jamaica 1 fuck up can change the game.
  13. https://streamin.one/v/8013dac1 Heres the goal for those who didn't see it.
  14. 3 shots total ...2 from Corbeanu not bad lol.
  15. Just scored his first Granada goal. Nice tight finish to make it 5-1 for Villareal.
  16. Yup saw this too... and in the other game of CBs I saw that Miller and McGraw will both get exposed for pace as the season goes on. The Bomb is definitely a player for now and the future.
  17. Opportunity is a breeding ground for confidence. With majority of Canadian players it's the opportunities that are limited.
  18. It shouldn't even be a question now. If he gets snubbed with the work he's been putting in... I won't be surprised when Jamaica comes knocking.
  19. Surprise, surprise. Messi and friends come at a super premium.
  20. The unforgotten man....call...him...up?🤭
  21. We would've gained nothing. I would be surprised if 3 guys from both rosters are included in March's games. Those friendlies are nothing but stat boosters and domestic pleasers for their players. Ive done some work for a Jamaican international with 7 caps, ...and he's a Jamaican international because of these out-of-window games. I respect that the little country is able to do that, as I would love for us to have a C camp with CPL players.....but yea these games don't mean shit to us.
  22. I promise you change the time the CCC tournament is played, and results will be different across the board...not just for CPL teams. More "upsets" would be likely because the elite teams (MLS/LigaMX will have to juggle their squad more) and all teams will be in mid season fitness. Play Concacaf League concurrent with todays Champions Cup ...results would be the same for CPL teams. The ties would be closer, but same results imo. These thoughts are influenced because of the performances...they were only good before because CPL teams were at end of season game shape.
  23. I understand this but let me counter it. For me, there's more positives in having ALL CPL teams join Leagues Cup, vs 1 or 2 joining a second club competition. 1. MLS/Liga MX teams will draw a lot better than Moca, Cavalier, or even Saprissa. Which brings more revenue. 2. CPL clubs will be in season. Anything can happen with real match fitness vs playing a game months before your season starts. 3. Exposure is greater. Again playing against MLS/LigaMX is a better litmus test for our guys. A player could play two great games against those teams (still lose) but be a standout that teams from those leagues could take a punt on. The only negative is that CPL teams would rarely win games. But again the positive would be that they get to face different teams each year. Now this is what I completely agree with. I'm actually getting sick of MLS and them acting like they are the EPL. Just make a Super League, and call it a day. Saves all the other gimmicks. They strong armed Concacaf into making the Leagues Cup relevant, and strong armed them with this version of the tournament. Now they have 16 of 27 teams in the tournament, and if Toluca wasn't so shit it would be Leagues Cup in March all over again.
  24. I don't know what this job entails other than hiring the coach(not even sure about that), but even what you have said above is a win in todays climate at the CSA. "Positive vibes only"
  25. At this point, I would prefer/advocate for CPL clubs to be given access to the Leagues Cup for many reasons like in season form, and no issues with hosting. I think the main issue is the start time of the tournament, and the CPL start. You can’t prepare on a whim for two games no matter how you spin it. I wish this tournament would go back to the old way with the group stage.
