And these comments feed my exact question points. Which is, are Canadians really tuned into MLS, outside of when a Canadian team is involved? If this is the case, then the point of the glamour of playing American teams is highly debatable. To that point, the leagues with marquee markets down south indisputably have the best players in the world - NBA, NHL, MLB….this isn’t true for MLS. 50k for last years CPL finals on CBC. 100k for MLS finals. There’s a 22 year lead…

Now I don’t know what true CPL final was, and maybe it’s not comparable since it wasn’t on national tv. However those numbers tell me we aren’t that interested/tuned in as we may like to believe.

I’m confused. No disrespect but how is AFCON more important than WCQ? If Scott gets called for Camp Poutine and then subsequently the 3 WCQs why does Canada have to worry about Rangers squad due to AFCON. Now is the time for Scott to show his commitment for the cause. He’s had time to focus on his club career, especially when the pinnacle of his career is in reach.

Can’t really say MLS on a whole is a selling league. Theres literally only about two teams that would fall under that category, and it’s FC Dallas leading the way by far, followed by NYRB. In order to be considered a selling league for young academy players, you have to have a consistent record of giving them opportunities to play. TFC doesn’t really do that at all. And If you’re only buying valuable young players to sell for a greater value…does that really make you a seller?

Will be a very interesting and exciting year. He’s definitely a piece to have on the bench even if he plays 20 mins. I just hope this will he/won’t he convo can get put to bed - and I think January is when we hear/see the final answer.

It’s also suspected that by the end of this next window, we could start booking tickets to Qatar. And let’s say we do qualify “without” him…does he make the team for the WC? I sure see better value in bringing a guy like Fraser over Arfield for the long term experience.

I rather him go to Europe. I know it’s not always glamorous, but I think his style of play is better suited for over there. Would he be considered an international in MLS?

Well they have released their annual reports where they show the questionable distribution. We’re a few camps behind our rivals, let’s hope in 2022 we see somethings new.

And to your point about TFC identification, I think it’s worse when you look at the national team and see the amount of guys who had no youth national team caps. Reason why I think we’re in fortunate times (maybe an anomaly)and don’t think we really change what we structurally do. Example we still haven’t had any youth camps.
