  1. This is a lie too. Adidas does as much as Nike: https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/01/adidas-2024-national-team-kits.html
  2. Some people here mention how "great Umbro was" or "I want to go back to Umbro" but don't remember for a long period Umbro was always giving us template kits (between 2011-2018) outside of our 100 year anniversary kit which was pretty bland. I think guys just liked Umbro because it was good to their self-esteem. You could wear a L and it would fit you a size bigger. Where with Nike you were a L and it fits you a size smaller 😂. What I've seen Macron do with the CPL kits, I would love for Canada to be supplied by them. Anyone else like Puma, Adidas, or Umbro and it's going to be the same thing.
  3. I just wonder wear the front numbers will go.
  4. Also the xeet uses both men and women hashtags? I guess this means this kit is for both teams
  5. Meh, I'm okay with it. This is our first kit with Nike where you can't buy their teamwear kit and slap the logo on it.
  6. here's a link to all of Nikes releases, but it doesn't include Canada. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/01/nike-2024-national-team-kits.html
  7. It better be good! Remember Nike owes us some customization for how they treated us for the World Cup.
  8. I would guess that JH has more of a connection with AA over him... it's the reason why I'm guessing we don't see Kerr before him.
  9. Honestly he looks as good as the rest of our Canadian MLS GKs... however his distribution looks like one of the best. It sucks because these past games he's showed that he's good enough to be TFC #1, but he's gotta "hope" SJ is injured..which he often is.
  10. Really bad... we knew this already.
  11. Ru...sell Tei..Bert you say?
  12. ...Okay so you're about to turn 38, or just over the age and you're having a hard time realizing you're getting old. But hey! they say now "40 is the new 30" 😂
  13. This is true. But it's also true that we are 6 years past that in the year 2024 and he is probably not even in the top 5. I agree. But again, let the CMNT call-ups be based on your current form and not what you could potentially do or have done in the past. As an attacking player it should be based on are you scoring? are you assisting? are you creating chances and when I look at the guys in the squad today who aren't in top leagues you see Bair assisting and scoring, Millar assisting and scoring, Shaffelburg creating and scoring, Ugbo creating and scoring, and JRR creating and scoring. I won't write any player off, but you gotta earn it. Made it hard for the coach, but right now it was easy for Biello IMO with those 4 vets not in great situations at their clubs.
  14. And I'll challenge your thinking, because it's okay to be devils advocate to keep the conversation going. Where is the change? It starts with a new GK, whether it's Crepeau, or St. Clair we've shaved off 10 years of our GK. Then we go to our central CB in Vitoria who is 37yo, and is essentially replaced with Bombito who is 23 yo. Followed by Junior who is 34 this year (damn I'm getting old) and Cavallini who has been looking past it at 31. Those guys have been replaced with Bair who's on fire, likewise with Ugbo. Hoilett has been replaced with Shaffelburg who I think is a better super sub than Hoilett today. So the change I see is that one the squad has got extremely younger, and call ups are being given based on form/performance and less about what some guys did in 2017. "Much" change is fine. No one was asking for drastic changes that aren't feasible or realistic. No change expecting drastic results is insanity. The positive vibes is that we are getting younger, and after 90 minutes the change we'll see is likely that minutes are going to younger/our future-now players vs 30+yo who won't be at the World Cup in 26'.
  15. Welp a great Copa America can put him in the shop window. Porto is known for exporting players.
  16. Not really... he's more of an attacker than Staq. Porto are going for it.
  17. The other BC ballers in Metcalfe, and Chung. The Philippines is my AFC team!
  18. Did you just assume his gender? But just to add, he may be the interim....but these are the kinda of squad moves I was expecting from someone willing to stay around long. He's making the tough decisions, and I'm interested to see if he'll make them on the field to as well.
  19. Trust me I would love that for the future too. Corneilius-Miller-Bombito would be my ideal lineup. I'm not sold on Johnston at RCB anymore, and I do wonder if could play in front of them.
  20. Good observation/breakdown. But putting Oso behind Kone or Staq, or putting him in front in anticipation of a low block is a recipe for disisaster considering that same low block got us caught out several times against Jamaica. Now Trinidad isn't Jamaica, but they do have the speed to work on the counter. Reason why I didn't have waterman in a lineup with Miller as they are both slow. Miller with Bombito might be the pairing we've needed.
  21. It's a fair point. But to say there aren't ANY LB when Davies plays there game in and out for his club is a bit egregious no?
  22. Yea he probably was short on time. The squad was probably made before his weekend showout. However, in the absence of Adekugbe and Laryea, (in the WB roles) we Davies, and Millar for the LWB and Buchanan, Johnston, and Corbeanu. So we aren't thin or short at all IMO.
