Interesting. Very interesting. Gio came with less expectations and less hype. More so as a fallen prodigy who still never reached his prime. Insigne is coming as like you said top 5 Italian player, but on the downward of his career - outside of his prime. With what you said, I think the bulk of people will be expecting better than Gio, but I don’t personally. I hope to be surprised.

So TFC demanded that everything was routed through Jayden Nelson? Brazil had the game plan, and just sent 3 guys at him as if he was the only option. To be fair Olivieri will get the b.o.d because of the lack of preparation. Biello had the same thing for me because he had to deal with basically a second string squad with all the unavailabilities. Looking back I can't argue that Ongaro and Campbell weren't involved over the likes of Brym and Bair - the jury is still out. (Bassong was playing a holding LWB!) I'm not going to be surprised if we don't do well, solely because of the lack of preparation and the necessary ID-ing of players. I'm hoping to be surprised of how well we do.

Real time is totally subjectable without VAR, and he got away with it. I don't know about you guys @dyslexic nam @shorty, but I'm seeing clear space between his heel and the line. We are using screen grabs from a dodgy video, so I can imagine what VAR refs would be able to see. And with VAR you're giving the kicker a second chance, and the tactic may not be that beneficial in the end. imo.
