Referee was consistently bad. Matarittas yellow on Tajon wasn’t a yellow either. Kaye should’ve known better, but I’m not going to give him the Saka treatment like what I’m reading.

Great game Canada. Losing sucks, and has been foreign to us. But to lose like that, where we are treated as powerhouses and played liked it too. Everyone played solid, just unfortunate result.

Larger squads isn't as important as youth camps. We need more consistent men's U23, U20, U17, U15 camps.

Naw man, absolutely nothing compares to Mexican-Americans. No where else in the world does two countries have such connections. If you find another comparison I'll stand corrected, but you will be hard pressed to find it. Canadian dual nationals raised in Canada is literally every player in our pool. I think their "connection" comes from the disconnection of not being identified by national or provincial programs.

For York...the location is better than York University. IMO. This might be the first of a plethora of SSS that pop up in the GTA and in Canada. I'm still hoping for news about the stadium in Pickering. Durham Region is Bramptons little brother when it comes to player development.

Highly possibly. I hate to be always finding negatives amongst positive news. But if this does happen and the list seems to be heavily European focused, and absent our North American professionals - I'll be sad at the missed opportunity of not having a domestic camp to supplement this. This is going to remind me of how Ontario used to (don't know if they still do) make their provincial teams. A quick assessment here quick assessment there, and cuts are then made to make a final team = gaps.

Completely hijacked this thread, but the new CCL format is exciting for American MLS, and LigaMX fans. I'm telling you we'll all be watching the new CCL with only York United, Forge FC and CF Montreal as the representatives from North America, while there is nearly 14 other spots given to MLS and Liga MX teams. The odds are simply against us, and I'm not a numbers guy but I implore the ones to display them. We gotta hope the CCL has gigantically improved or face being/hoping to be the Sheriff Tiraspol.

In addition to that, a consistent U23 team. That age group I feel is the most understated. It’s the crossroads age where you’re too old for Concacaf youth tournaments, but typically you are breaking out in your career. Its guys like Priso, Nelson, Corbeanu, Petrasso, Metusala, Colyn, Pacius, Yao, and Peruzza who are not quiet ready for the senior team…but still need to be active within the system.

In theory, but history tells a different story. TFC is the only team in recent years. MTL highest finish was 3rd, and Vancouver is the Whitecaps. So no way will we see 3 MLS teams at anytime.

Second being a depleted team. Going forward in the new CCL format we’ll see 3 - two being CPL teams. While USA & Mexico have a minimum of 6 maximum of 9 each….. but that’s another topic.

And I think that’s what Herdman meant. However to my point I’ve been preaching is that we need more clubs playing on the continental stages. Having only one MLS club isn’t enough, and it’s fair to say that Kones breakout/readinesses was displayed in the CCL.

It’s possible that his 100th appearance can come at the World Cup too. Absolutely massive.

Naw it’s the system. Because before they get the proper coaching, they have to display a level of talent. But let’s say their coaches don’t have the trusted clout to say “hey look at this kid he’s really good”…. I know in the GTA you have to be at an academy or an OPDL team. Even then there still is gaps, and guys still just “appear out of nowhere”
