  1. Wait what…thought 2002 are the cut off.
  2. Yea I was having a laugh, but it wasn’t easy since he’s not listed anywhere. I used to play with him when I was in NTC Ontario for a bit, so I instantly recognized his face.
  3. @narduch @jonovision @Gian-Luca say it with me, “the spirit of Gerry lives in me” 🤣 The guy in the hoodie is Shane Lammie…one of the assistant coaches. https://www.canadasoccer.com/profile/?id=1804&teamId=2078
  4. My 19 man locked in list is that essentially make up the brootherhood. Goalies: Borjan, Crepeau Defenders: Laryea, Adekugbe, Vitoria, Johnston, Henry, Miller, Kennedy Midfielders: Hutchinson, Osorio, Eustaqiuo, Kaye Attackers: David, Larin, Cavallini, Davies, Buchanan, Hoilett Leaving 3 spots up for grabs, as one has to be a keeper. Regularly featured: Piette, Corneilius, Millar, Ugbo, and Fraser. Been in camp guys: Brym, ZBG, Shaffelburg and Gutierrez Young guns: Kone, Priso, Akinola, Corbeanu Dual Nationals : Jebbison, Flores, Mitrovic, Holmes That's 17 potential guys to get on the plane. That's why I believe NL will be the final audition for some guys. Which will be very interesting in the coming months. Someone could even have a breakout tournament at the U20's
  5. I mean they pretty much have qualified, and probably wanted to celebrate it at home. No way they lose 6-0.
  6. Now that we are officially qualified. I'm equally excited for this tournament as I see it as the games that will solidify the depth roster. Maybe this is an unpopular opinion but I would like to see two sets of rosters for these coming windows. An "A" roster for when we have a 2 game window where theres only 1 NL game, and we schedule a friendly against the likes of Argentina. A "B" roster for the other two games where we will play either one of Jamaica, Panama, Honduras, or El Salvador, and one of Grenada, Suriname, Martinique or Curcao. That roster to me would look like this: GK: Creapeau, DSC, Breza DF: Waterman, ZBG, Gutiérrez, Cornelius, Kennedy, Shaffelburg, Holmes * MF: Kone, Fraser, Piette, Paton, Okello, Priso, Petrasso, Choinière, Mitrovic*, Flores* FW: Millar, Ugbo, Corbeanu, Akinola, Bair, Pasher, Brym, Jebbison* Those two games will be the last ones before the WC to assess any "Kone" type players who are capable of being great depth pieces. There's 5 spots up for grabs in a 23 man roster. 18 barring any absences are guaranteed spots in the squad. I'll stress this point for the A team: THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS PREPARATION AGAINST TEAMS THAT ARE INFERIOR TO US.
  7. Wait so there was others who won the lottery. Lucky!
  8. I just realized something….I was wondering where the hell is the good luck charm Christian Campagna, and noticed he’s not with the boys but he just played with WFC2.
  9. And this was the conversation with my dad last night who's not really a soccer guy (grew up playing basketball and football, watches basketball religiously) ....But he loves basketball, a non contact sport that has the biggest and most softest guys flopping and and acting. I can't blame Venegas for his acting, he did his part in securing the victory for his team. Nobody likes to see it, but when it works in your favour there's not much complaining.
  10. This. Not to call a name, but Piette needs to get himself fit. Because Kone might take his spot at the club and national team level.
  11. Yup I did too. Reason why I rather just report it and ignore it. Why bring light to something that is already in the dark. Let's move on.
  12. We live in Canada not the UK. Racism isn't a criminal offence (which it should be), nor can what he did be considered a "hate crime". He'll just get banned, and then create a new account and continue on doing the same thing.
  13. Fully agree. Although Costa Rica had the scouting report on him. They were closing him down as soon as the ball touched his right foot outside the 18.
  14. So its just personal preference. Because you didn't state where the challenge was in the middle that Piette would've mitigated. To me Piette is good at one thing, and one thing only. Breaking up plays, and his positioning which attributes to his breaking up plays. His passing isn't great, his agility is lack there of, he doesn't have an aerial presence, but he fights. In the modern game, the classic CDM doesn't really exist anymore. It's evolved to where they have to break up plays, and make deep lying passes. He doesn't have that. Fraser on the other hand does.
  15. sigh...its so stupid, and boring. I'll assume they aren't really Canadian and they're just trolling. Because 65% of the squad is black. So if race is an issue for somebody, then you might have to watch Italy or Russia at the WC.....oh wait.
  16. - Hutchinson will be playing for sure. - I would drop Larin (he was dropping way too deep when we needed an outlet), push Hoilett up top. - Maybe Kennedy instead of Vitoria since he's still recovering and will be susceptible to Jamaica's speed
  17. For what? we dominated the game. We didn't have an issue in the middle. Piette, Fraser....are guys who are holding on to their spot with a guy like Kone coming through.
  18. So we need rolling around from the boys on any touch. i can recall a few guys saying Laryea, and David go down too easy. There’s no winning with some. I’ve been an advocate for the dark arts, but the bitch side is clearly not us.
  19. Facts. Agreed. Kaye got sucked in….. but it wasn’t rash. It was literally a cross of paths type bump. Question is nobody in the refs ear to say something, that was absolute bulshit.
  20. Guys consistently get two hand pushed in the chest, with no cards…. There’s absolutely no way that is a yellow card, much less a second.
