  1. Trust...I would love to see this game, but I'm opting for Chile in Orlando in the weekend.
  2. This is exactly what I expected to see. Someone with just a name, trying to make a name. Henry falls in this category too. Everything that glitters isn't gold, and some tigers are better left wild.
  3. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2024/04/06/frank-lampard-shock-candidate-canada-job/
  4. Of course they do. This is why it's a never ending situation. Damned if they do. Damned if they don't. The only hope is that corporate sponsorships come in after a great showing, whatever that looks like.
  5. However Mr Blue indirectly made it seem like that money that was left by JH isn't there for the new coach. There's absolutely no way you confirm the debt that is reported, increase taxes to the kids and continue in the same structure. Anybody with a " name " willing to coach Canada will probably be paid 300-400k CAD. It's a reason why I won't be shocked to hear what would be underwhelming news to many.
  6. I can't remember who said he was short in the one of the u20 match threads, and I said "well he's 5'9, so he's not thaaat short"..... ....but I don't know, every time I see him I think there's no way he's 5'9. He's at most 5'7.
  7. And for us Arfield, Wotherspoon, De Fougeroles, McGraw, McGill... I agree with the idea though, as I hated the idea of Arfield captaining the country and he never stepped foot in the country prior too. That/It is shameless to me. I think the rules need to be convoluted, where right now it's black and white. Cynical cap tieing hasn't been addressed.
  8. I never understood this. Didn't he play with their U21s? And I thought you had to be eligible for a given country before playing any sort of international ball.
  9. The reality is, majority of us know the player pool better than a "Floro" like signing would.
  10. He can only run and smash right? Playing in a LWB position.
  11. Bontis had the same solution of taxing the provincial associations...I think if Blue came in during the time Bontis did we might not see much difference...the same we are now. There's no way we can think that he got the Netherlands friendly...right?
  12. Bonits had an arrogance to him. People hate that, regardless when it's regarding bad news. He didn't sugar coat shit, and people love sugar coatings.
  13. Question, when will ticket prices be available for games against Chile, and is there idea of the price range? Trying to lock my group plans in .
  14. And who's in their depths against other opponents? There's only a few. My point came about Shaffelburg being g a super sub, being able to run at defenders when chasing a game. I never mentioned him starting. 8 games barely any minutes and has 2 goals in big games. Not friendlies. Where guys like @Bigandyare putting Davies at LB or Buchanan on the bench to put Millar on at LW when he's been performing best at LWB for Preston. I get it's just opinions, but make it make sense.
  15. Everything you stated suggests he should get on the field at some point, especially if we are needing a goal. Hes great at the transition game, the same game that I said is what we need to get back to. I've also NEVER put Jacob in my starting lineups, and I don't think I've seen it here either so it's stupid to ask "how will he do as a starter" just to make your point. I'm just not going to put Davies or Buchanan (on the bench) in another position to get Millar on the field.
  16. Everybody is putting Millar into these lineups over Buchanan. Seems odd to me...not only that, Shaffelburg has staked his claim as a guy who's going to contribute whenever playing for Canada. We can't void these facts. A lot of guys are in form, but then it becomes playing styles.
  17. It's Bombito! Waterman is way too soft for me in there, and I would just rather bring back Vitoria.
  18. Agreed. And the tactical masterclass would be to sit our highest goal score or testing David in the 10... Davies-----David-------Buchanan -------Staq----?-----Kone Miller?--Corneilius--Bombito--Johnston I could only put 5 players confidently in this system. Putting David in a 10, with Larin in front leaves our middle way to susceptible. We need a midfield destroyer to emerge in 2 months!
  19. At this point it just seems like guys are just throwing names out there based on availability. So how about Scolari, Conte, Zidane...or Neil Warnorck?
  20. Outside of game management, the Japan game was our worst showing. However less we forget, that was the first time our team was together in 5 months, and the coach had already departed. From that time, we had a massive win in Jamaica...and a massive loss in Toronto. Considering all the uncertainty, and discord within the association...I'll say it hasn't been that bad. Going forward, we won't be playing teams like Jamaica, Panama, or Trinidad who will be sitting and expecting to make breaks on the counter. We'll more than likely have teams who want to attack us like Japan did, and knowing this it caters to our skillset. I believe if Biello or whatever manager gets Canada to play the transition game again we'll surprise a lot of teams. We are not a possession-based (""Guardiola style""), which a lot of the SA teams like to play.... but more of the heavy metal "Klopp style" counter attacking football. Any coach we bring in, I hope tries to implement that style that suits our entire players pool albeit for maybe Osorio.
  21. I feel like expectations are really low, and I don't know why. My expectations is that we leave the group, because I personally dont rate Chile anymore or Peru. I was looking at Chiles roster today, and they got guys like Isla still in their lineup at fullback! I would love for us to absorb and counter against these teams, I think that's what we neeed to get back too. If we try to make it a possession game, it won't benefit our game.
  22. Maybe I'm being harsh? and maybe I didn't stress hard enough that I don't want an American coaching our national team. There are many other options. Anybody else, but an American is how I feel.
  23. And this is the reality I also have! I'm opposed to something new just for the sake of it being new, and the names some of you guys are mentioning here (Marsch, Henry) is underwhelming and fits the narrative I'm saying. All I'm saying is the grass isn't always greener on the other side
  24. Incidentally, that team performed very well at the WC....but coincidentally their coach was a former Morrocan international, and albeit for 1 season he coached his entire managerial career in Morrocco. So ultimately there was a high level of familiarity and understanding of the player pool. That same success was found at our other group opponents in Croatia. So like @TGAA_Star, who realistically will lead us into the Copa America at this time? Like with Herdman, I'm willing to give Biello a blige, and some time before we decided to hire a Norwegian, 2nd tier Spanish, Argentina based on Javiers liking, or the worst an American coach.
