  1. Except for Baldi as I think he has a little bit of time on his side. If I were them I would have my agent reach out to federation. Add Metcalfe to that list too.
  2. was going to make a thread about this👀....I think this would be massive, as it was last time. Just better because Canada would definitely be involved. USA, Mexico - automatically qualified Costa Rica - Copa Centramericana champs Jamaica - Caribbean Cup Champs Panama beat Cuba to qualify Haiti beat Trinidad to qualify We were 10th in ranking at the time and didn't qualify for the playoff. (We've came along way) If they were to use the same format, we could see the very same 6 teams above but replacing Canada with Haiti.
  3. Which tbh, this year...maybe the best year to just take time to fully recover. There's no rush, and he's still 19. Don't want chronic injuries to happen as a result of not taking the necessary time.
  4. I'll page a few gentlemen... @SpursFlu, @ted.😘 ...I'm missing the main the guy who was ranting about isolating BC fans.
  5. Add Ottawa too. Here’s my perfect scenario. I can see a top tier friendly being played June 4th (Saturday) or 5th (Sunday) with the best squad available in Toronto. Some guys given some time off in their city. The extended squad travelling to Montreal to play Curaçao on the 10th, and there being heavy rotation. The squad returns to Toronto in the morning on the 11th, has two training sessions 11th and 12th, and then the squad flies out to San Pedro Sula on the 13th, has an even training session with their game the following day against Honduras. Boom. CSA hire me.
  6. It’s been posted already, but not in this respective thread. I can see the Curaçao game being played in MTL or in the capital.
  7. yes, yes, very uncommon in the modern game.
  8. In addition to your 3, I think there is a few more guys who will need extended rest in preparation for their new season. Remember a lot of leagues will start earlier this year due to the November WC start. (EFL - July 30, EPL - August 13, Belgian League - July 23, Primeria Liga - August 8th, Ligue 1 - August 6th, Laryea - Has had a really long season and a half. He will need to be fresh by the time Forrest start training in July, to cement his place in the lineup. He deserves a summer break. Eustaqiuo - Although an ironman for Canada, it's the same scenario as Richie. He too will need a break to reset and comeback sharp to cement his place at his new club. Larin - Chances are he will be at a new club. Does he want to show up with a headstart from playing with Canada, or does he show up to his new club jaded and needing rest. I think he needs the rest. David - Another guy who could be due for a move, and if he is. He'll need the same rest that the others require. Hoilett - Could use a break as well considering the Championship will start July 30, which would virtually give him no time off. So John Herdman might talk about bringing his strongest team, but he understands the psychology and biology aspect of guys needing a refresh/recharge.
  9. And this is what I’ve been scared of. His rise has come from him playing a position that he doesn’t on the club level. I personally don’t think he’s great going forward (although he can), his skill set is suited more so for RB vs RWB. But RCB is his best position imo. Kinda the reason why we are seeing two different AJs.
  10. There should be a rule that you can't post a thread until you reach a certain status/engagement level. Because the ones around have seen thread titles before, and will you know ....use the search button.
  11. My thinking is....if we are thinking we can compete in our World Cup group stage against Belgium, Croatia, and Morroco with out A squad. Isn't it backwards to think that we couldn't compete against Curacao, and Honduras with a fringe squad? IMO we need to see our attack without the 4 key guys in David, Davies, Larin, and Buchanan.
  12. Going based off their most recent rosters, I believe so. I think Honduras is in a rebuild, however their attack can still be dangerous (although we didn't see it) with Ellis, Quitto, and Lozano. Curacao's team would be equivalent to the squad listed. A lot of their guys are journeymen or playing in Erestedivise. Now, like Jamaica if they get their duals nats to show up...could bring a different challenge. But in their current state, I think we can compete with that squad.
  13. He made his way around the block veryyyyy slowwwly. Made his pro debut in 2015 as a 25yo and has 80 apps today. In the past 4 seasons he's played under 20 games. I definitely wouldn't call Hasal....but if Thomas is being considered I would choose Leutwiler, St. Clair, Pantemis, or Breza before him. I've seen experience get used around here very loosely. I think experience is only relative to the standard in comparison, and not indicative of being a professional who's just been around.
  14. How about Ricardo Ferreira too? Over 30, and our ready made backup is younger. It’s better to explore younger options that are plying their trade in our backyard…Breza, Hasal, DSC.
  15. That was sheer nerves, and a game we should've won. That draw was also our first game of the Octagonal against our demon, AND it was our only non-win at home. Honduras is a wash. Panama overachieved.
  16. I like the draw. Honduras is definitely going to be in a rebuild. So I expect to see a lot of new young guys, and no more Maynor. Curacao is on the "rise", however looking at their roster and our b roster would be equivalent to what I see. I still prefer we use this to rest some guys, and blood in new talent.
  17. My list from the nations league thread, that covered this same thread.
