  1. Give it a rest… I wonder if you guys would beg for your ex back, after she repeatedly showed no interest and called it quits with you. The mission WC is complete. We aren’t going to the World Cup and expecting to best Belgium. It’s about the experience, exposure, and culture shift that being at this tournament will change. And it’s sustaining that since, we are already guaranteed a place at the next WC…on…home soil. Arfield won’t be the difference, not now - not in 5 years, so why waste time trying to sell your idea/dream to your ex, while you have a younger more ready lover who you can mold and build a future with. All that to say….we have Kaye, Osorio, Staq, Hutch, and Piette. Hopefully Wotherspoon is back. 6 guys who have committed and deserve to play at the WC…if not them, than give the experience to Fraser, Kone, or Thompson. Thanks and respect for your brief commitment to the CMNT. His Canadian story has already finished.
  2. What’s interesting is that, if this group proves to be “good” or has a bond. How do you 1, cut 23(25) guys down (didn’t count the 2 keepers) and secondly add about 6-8 eligible guys who are playing professional minutes? All might be a moot point, as TFC, and Montreal might not release Rida, Kosi, Kobe, Jahkeele, and Keesean. But those guys I would all assume are shoe-ins.
  3. @Alex I don’t think you acknowledged this…because they’re right!
  4. I’ve actually been calling for a Canadian league that has all the NHL Canadian teams in it. For the hockey nation that we are, there’s no reason why this isn’t the case - money isn’t one. I also understand there’s no need for change as well because we are the USA basketball of hockey. 50% of the league is Canadians. I think a lot of markets are starved because there’s a cap in the league. No reason why Hamilton doesn’t have a team for instance (other than the leafs stronghold on the area rights)
  5. I’ll reserve any hype till any kid plays professional football…
  6. OneSoccer or even Canada soccer. One single camera is all we are asking for. Considering the game has to be being recorded right?
  7. Seeing this database of players that Corazon put together, and I thought there's probably some more that we don't know about. I know I probably sound like a broken record, but with a few guys not available the CSA's level of planning and strategic preparation is horrible. Because this was definitely something they could've done better, knowing that this is a 2 for 1 tournament. With the first game of this camp tomorrow, it had me thinking there should've been a camp in February with the 25+ North American based players held in Canada or the US, so that they could have all the players available. Then a 20-man European/South American based camp in Europe or wherever during the international break like what was initially rumoured, so that again all the players could be available (Koleosho, Jules) and properly assessed. 25 man camp whittled down to 20, with 4-5 of the 8 guys in the waiting as shoe-ins. Reminds me of provincial team tryouts or combines where you have to be selfish and show-out to make your assests/skills been seen. A "brotherhood" (Bontis words) will be hard to build knowing this. Really interesting times ahead Calling all sleuths, post a good Friday stream if you find one.
  8. I'm rooting for him man. He's fully embraced his role, and commitment to the program with no bullshit.
  9. Yes, yes it is important. Renderings are a hype piece. They bring belief to the project, and create a level of expectation. With that said….I can’t be optimistic about this, but on the flip side I see what they did in Victoria and it makes me believe otherwise. I hope the create stands all around. The stadium and intimate settings are so key to the success of the overall product.
  10. What brought MLS its legitimacy/relevance was the DP rule. It changed its entertainment value. When the CPL adopts such rule to allow “big” names to be drawn it will immediately change the landscape. @Ansem that’s the only reason why MLS has done better at attracting fans. The Cosmos and Rowdies were slowly tapping into it with guys like Senna, Raul and Joe Cole but we’re quickly stifled by politics.
  11. How when they play each competitive game at the Azteca...if anything that keeps the fear prestige, and removes familiarity that you would have in the frequency of playing there. Canadian fans in Florida have had the opportunity to see the team a lot more than fans in Alberta. This argument can be said for a lot of countries, and a lot of scenarios. For countries that share a line (border) the way they do it's a bad analogy IMO. They lost to a good USA squad, and the best team while being underprepared for the Iceteca against Canada. There youth programs are typically at every tournament FIFA tournament. You think this is coincidence? Not indicative of financial gain? In addition to FIFA tournaments they are typically at various intl youth tournaments. I agree let's schedule a game in Pheonix, Arizona in June at 2 mountain time....this will set the tone.
  12. Sane is a broken faucet, might get cold or you might get hot - wicked left foot though. I might sound like a homer, but that line you just said is exactly Davies. He did it against Barcelona. Sent Semedo to Wolves Coman is definitely a better finisher than Davies, but that's been through time. I just want to see Davies in an advanced role to better his finishing.
  13. This. When did we become Americans, and be so oblivious and entitled while negating the simple facts?
  14. Yea they are currently called Forge FC Parity is such a loose term. MLS loves to use that, but Toronto and Vancouver aren't on the same level of parity. Atlanta, LAFC arent on the same level of parity as RSL or San Jose. European leagues are envious at the salary cap, and the share business model. Nothing else.
  15. Disagree. FC Dallas has show that if you give your kids the chance some will turn out "good". However you'll notice that they have never won MLS Cup. Why because there system/or plan isn't based on buying talent, but producing it. They've been the most successful from that standpoint, and it's solely down to opportunities, and less about time.
  16. True. But they also said their was a 50 man list being tracked or some shit like that. It's just bad prep/organization but there will always be a valid reason=excuse.
  17. Prior to Covid, when we played our friendlies it was predominantly in the USA if we were hosting. 2015 - Icelandx2 in Orlando, Guatamela in Fort Lauderdale, & Ghana in DC 2016 - 6 friendless not one hosted 2017 - 5 friendlies, 3 of which we were host, of those 1 game was in Houston against El Salvador in Houston 2018 - 1 friendly which we were host to New Zealand in Spain 2019 - 1 arranged training match in the USA, vs T&T. 2020 - 3 games in January against Iceland, and Barbados (x2) [Covid wasn't covid yet, because the Victoria friendlies were scheduled.] Add to the fact that our WCQing was typically over by the hex. I digress on that specific point, I was confused....I thought we played a home CNL game at Bradenton prior to 2020 (we did, it just wasn't our home game). However my overall sentiment still stands.
  18. But I never said that either. More so the fact that they know the USA is a home away from home for a lot of their people, so it’s makes sense and isn’t unreasonable. I do know, we as Canadians shouldn’t be talking or having concern with where they play their friendlies because we have done the same thing, plus more. Remember they have played all their CNL and WCQ on home soil….we haven’t. So yes, it’s about taking advantage of the money, and less about isolating their team from their people.
  19. Imma need Davies to push higher up man. The young boy is ready to play his position now. He’s better than Coman.
  20. Bunch of semantics and lip service every year. But it’s suppose to be our D1 league. They tried to come up with a solution to the green card rules by giving more international spots, but to me it still doesn’t suffice.
  21. But I don’t see it as this. The “revenue” is heavily cushioned through league sharing. Clearly some clubs don’t make enough, because they don’t spend enough - Caps, San Jose, RSL. The money they would forgo, would be sustained for several years through the sale of their franchises. (350M seems to be the going rate right now for an MLS franchise, when they initially purchased for todays CPL cost of 10M) The operating costs wouldn’t change a lot, I think the CPL could “accommodate” the MLS clubs with tweaks to the salary cap. Increasing the max, having a luxury tax, keeping the DP rule. Theres ways that aren’t unreasonable. What we would see is that those clubs would over spend the likes of Valour, aka be able to be Atlanta in Vancouver. I think it would enhance the development path, as the bigger clubs (like everywhere else) would be able to pick the crème of the crop while the other clubs continuing to develop the hidden gems. Year 3.5 of the CPL, and we have MacNaughton, Chung, and Waterman all proving capable of playing in MLS - do you believe this is an anomaly? It’s not a coincidence that all those opportunities were given to by Canadian clubs…why because the risk and chance is still high for American clubs to take on an “InTeRnAtIoNaL pLaYeR”. I’m done with being passive, there’s gotta be a way forward.
  22. I think this is an ignorant statement. Theres a lot, and I mean a lot of Mexicans living in USA who see them just as that , and less Mexican-American. There’s a lot that are even aliens, and FMF is aware of this. I’ve said it before no other countries have this unique relationship/connection. But they are making more money, and so are able to charge more than if they were working or living in Mexico. Some of that money typically funnels back to the federation, and their programs that they can continually sustain.
