  1. I think Mitrovic would be the only guy who I would agree with that "deserves" a call-up over him. I won't debate that. Brym is having a great season in the second division fighting for promotion. Colyn is having a good season on a midtable second division club (I think he would be a perfect call up for a U23 team if we had one, but not the seniors) Corbeanu is another player that I like, but is solely a winger. With Richie he's been consistently playing in the best league out of those names. And from what I've seen is that his game is very versatile. He's able to play anywhere on the front three, and is capable of playing behind the striker. He is strong, and very good with holding up the ball, and linking with the attack. He hasn't scored much but has 4 assists which tells me he's able to create goals. Ultimately, I think we need to consistently bring in new faces that have performed when the opportunity presents itself. We've seen what Millar does, we've seen what Corbeanu can do, and we've seen what Brym can do. I'm interested in seeing the guys who are playing at comparable levels get opportunities on the national team and see how they do!
  2. Scums of London, it's very fitting.
  3. 4 goals in 7 matches. Although it’s MLS reserve league action, it’s very impressive for the 16yo with the range of goals being scored. Will be interesting to see the final u20 squad and if he’s included.
  4. What I hate about your first post (and I continued to scour your additional replies to see if there was anything added to your point - to no avail), is that you make no mention of “who is more deserving”. You repeat the same phrase twice and still no name mentioned, and decided to delve into politics before even naming someone. So tell us who the “who” is so we can have a proper discussion or debate of why x is more deserving than x.
  5. The amount of guys called up for the 3 games . Over or under 26. I say under.
  6. It’s the versatility that’s gets you into the squad. Bryms ability to play anywhere on the front three will be tick in his advantage over someone like Corbeanu who’s more of just a winger. Tbh, even before Brym, Akinola, Corbeanu, or Nelson….I want to see Ennin.
  7. With TFCs thin roster and injuries, I don’t expect to see Franklin, Thompson or JMR.
  8. ….Tajon is not a RB. We gotta stop wanting our attackers to play defensive* postions.
  9. Wait...who said THAT. I was looking to see what poster said this and I can't find it. Did they edit it? Sounds like something my son would say when I tell him "thats enough candy for the night" and he cries to his mom and says "my daddy said I can't have candy for the rest of my life"
  10. The word trial might be misinterpreted. We brought in a bunch of overseas guys for trials too. Reality is this age group is unpredictable, and is merely opportunity based. It wouldn't be right to completely take those opportunities from the local ballas because of that. What I do wonder is, do you need a passport to play youth tournaments or can you simply be eligible? Cause how will they get those passports.
  11. 2020 for reference: - Obvious is the Increase in commercial sponsorships. We saw a lot of new partners. - Player fees decreased by 2% from 2020 (weird when everything was shut down) - staging, marketing and communications decreased by nearly 10%, while administration doubled
  12. A lot of excuses being created is all I'm saying. A lot more pessimism than optimism from the ones who were crying "what about us". Show out, bring your friends, bring your family. I'll be there, and I assume a few others on the east side... on short notice.
  13. I’m sorry but that’s an excuse for the BC fans. Those veteran leaders are not the stars of the team. If Staq, Davies, David, Buchanan, and Larin are all there and there are cries for “tHiS iS nOt ThE fIrSt TeAm” it’s only a detriment to the city and it’ll be next stop Montreal or better yet Winnipeg. The gesture is having a game when it could be elsewhere. The CMNT doesn’t owe Vancouver anything, there’s an argument for Victoria but nothing else.
  14. ……so he’s…having….fun? Always rooting for him, and I know he’s a good kid. However I’ll be the first to say “this” isn’t good for his overall image, and brand. Some here may be okay with it, but with the fickles lord knows he has to stay perfect or he could very well get the Kaye-like treatment - real quick. Sadly, it’s just how it goes for guys like Davies.
  15. Brother, we can't be considered a dark horse. We just topped the qualifying group....we aren't Grenada, Suriname, or Curacao.
  16. But what does Nations League have to do with the World Cup?
  17. I think Vitoria too....I agree we may see Hoilett, but these older guys need a proper rest. Hoilett will essentially have no break, as the Championship starts in July (if he signs back for reading or a championship squad)
  18. question..... Would the lack of no friendly, and the news of a newcomer in Jebbison, Mitrovic, or Holmes supplement your feelings of frustration? Say this in a Herdman voice" "we were busy working on the paperwork to get these lads in for this window, so that we could get them acclimatized into the system, the culture, the brotherhood (starting to hate that word lol) in anticipation of these guys being able to be the difference in the suqad. We see that, and we believe in them so it's on these young boys, these teenagers to show that"
  19. Disagree with this bit, as Ikone and Bamba are nowhere near as effective as him. Yea he likes to dribble but those guys do a lot of dribble, dribble turnover. I actually think he would benefit from a player like ASM, because although he likes to dribble, he does get the ball into key areas majority of the time, and that is where David likes to pop up. Newcastle is the only prem team I would like to see him at.
  20. Squad speculation. What we do know is that there is a few key players with varying statuses. Which will allow for some new faces, or even some fringe players to play bigger roles than they did in WCQ. As a result of the statuses of key players, and the opponent (no disrespect) I don't think we can call this actual preparation for the WC. Here's what we know: Injured List: Osorio: Out injured - timeline is undetermined Millar: Broken arm - timeline to return 3-5 weeks Wotherspoon: ACL - timeline is undetermined Henry: Hamstring - timeline is undetermined Out of Contract: Junior Hoilett Cyle Larin Atiba Hutchinson Stephen Vitoria Squad Prediction: Goalkeepers: Crepeau, St. Clair, Breza Defenders: Cornelius, Kennedy, Miller, Johnston, Laryea, Adekugbe, Waterman, Edwards Midfielders: Eustaqiuo, Kaye, Kone, Fraser, Mitrovic, Piette, Paton Forwards: David, Davies, Buchanan, Ugbo, Ennin, Larin, Brym
  21. Our second foray into this tournament, on the back of topping the standings on our way to qualifying to the World Cup. We aren't a surprise anymore, and we are expecting to top our group and qualify for the final portion of this tournament next year. Red cards would carry over from the WCQ'ing, however are team is on a clean slate. Here's is our game schedule for window 1 of 2 for this group stage. Game #1: 🆚 : Curacao 🇨🇼 📅. : June 9th, 2022 📍 : Vancouver, Canada 🏟️ : BC Place 🕰️ : 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET 📺 : OneSoccer _____________________ Game #2: 🆚 : Honduras 🇭🇳 📅. : June 14th, 2022 📍 : San Pedro Sula, Honduras 🏟️ : Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano 🕰️ : 7:00 p.m PT/10:00 pm ET 📺 : OneSoccer
  22. Hey don't you dare let him be the voice of Torontonians! But logically WE ARE the centre of Canada, and everyone knows that.😂 side note...The man loves the games in his backyard so the squad can feel that much closer..... on the TV.
