Jamaican fans have been split actually. They know there’s better coaches out there, but they also know the JFF can’t afford them (kind like how we were…). 

I keep saying it’s way too early to be judging Jamaica based on the basic facts that hindered their overall preparations….I don’t know how many times I gotta say that. 

Ive spoken directly many times with guys who have been avid active supporters before France 98. Guys who are considered founders like some of our guys here. They understand that Tappa isn’t the best, but he understands the culture, and how to get the best out of some guys while giving opportunities to the born bred jcans (when they can). They say he needs help. It’s the people above him, the infrastructure and the dealings is where the fans want change. For example they recently increased their coaching staff to 4 guys vs ours which has been 6-7 guys with certifications/designations. 

So to say he’s just a motivator….well he’s got them to a Concacaf final with a squad nowhere as talented as the team they have now.

So as another immigrant to the country when I was a child (moved to Toronto right before turning 10), I had a very different experience in terms of my MNT loyalties. I loved soccer before moving to Canada, but I immediately latched on CanNT as my team, even begging my dad to take me to watch Canada play Iran in a friendly at the old Varsity Stadium in Toronto back in 1997 (I found out later that was Jason de Vos's first international appearance) as my birthday AND Christmas present for that year (it was also when I realized Canada didn't get the home support that I imagined). I think it probably helped that the country of my birth didn't have a super long history of soccer culture (though they did make it to a world cup more recently than Canada did).
On the other hand, I think the beauty of Canada has been that you are never forced to pick and choose your cultural heritage, you can be Canadian and Jamaican, or Canadian and Salvadoran at the same time. I didn't realize how important that was to me until I traveled and lived in other countries in my 20s when people wouldn't believe that I'm Canadian because I didn't look like their pre-conceived notion of what a Canadian could look like (AKA white). 
I would like to think that acceptance has also made it easier for some players like Laryea or Osorio or even David to rep Canada when they have other heritage. Because Canada never forced them to choose, they are more likely to choose Canada.

Good question. The FIFA regulations state that cards are cleared between the preliminary ROUND (no distinction between difference phases) and the FINALS. He better have formal confirmation and not be mixing that up/getting that from a mixed up source.
Until then I will cringe if Davies, etc get a card in the game.

Honduras is a badass team and has been for almost 40 years. They've screwed really top teams over the years and punch way above their weight. We are way below them, far below them in legacy and mentality.
There is no cakewalk here fans, and besides, when it comes to reffing we get taken and they know how to take. Anything but total quality play and full gamesmanship mode is just asking for an embarrassment.

Lilles had the lowest goals against record by far last year.  They won with their defense, not their offense.  It's not a sexy way to win, but it obviously works as they proved last year.  I'm getting kind of tired of the comments that Lille were lucky to win last year and didn't deserve it.  There is no luck in allowing the fewest goals in the league.
I wondered when Gaultier left Lilles whether team defense was going to take a hit.  So far it looks like it, but I'm not smart enough to figure out if it's really the new coach's fault.  Maybe it will become more clear with time.

Having an opinion is not the problem.
I could go further, but I have no problem admitting that a player in this day and age could do social media posts and still be a great professional. Personally, I don't like it. I don't like anything getting in the way of the focus you need, and I say this as a fan.  If you don't agree, that is fine.

I was of the same opinion.  I have disagreed with him but also learned things from him in the past.
However, the "riding" he has got in this had very little to do with the original comment about social media and much more the logical leap that everyone was sexist who disagreed with him.   In my opinion. 
This has happened a fair bit lately.  Some great sweeping accusations and outright name calling if you happened to disagreed. 
Dogpiling does not help but neither does that.

I feel like I'm channeling my inner TGAA here. But I can't stress this enough. 
Anything less will be an uphill battle to qualify 

The debate on the importance of it and what it meant etc etc would have been fun I'm sure.
