Redpunkfiddle reacted to RS in March 27 WCQ vs. Jamaica location?
What's the problem? The area codes for Toronto (BMO Field) are 416, 647 and 437. Hamilton's (Tim Hortons Field) are 905, 289, 365 and 742. That's seven right there!
(This is a joke for anyone not paying attention. I actually hate this endless debate.)

There has been two months of commentary following the Hamilton decision from Herdman, CSA officials, and the One Soccer commentators who have these insider discussions, that the central Canada location provides advantages to the team related to travel.
I don't have Herdman's reports, so can't speak to the merits. But I'm not sure why some comments are focused on the debate among supporters, or make it seem like there was no analysis put into travel, when a decision about location was made by the team.
I was surprised and skeptical of the decision to play outside in Jan on turf again. But I accepted that the choice had been made based on competitive advantage for the team- including travel impacts.

I don't understand why people are freaking out about opposing fans in the stands. Freaking out might be a strong word. But this is a new team and a new age for our men's national team. The Hamilton game sold out in hours. This team has gotten in to the mainstream consciousness. It's popular to be a canmnt fan. I know this might be hard to believe but it is true. I know a lot of die hard soccer fans who before this run did not care about the mens team. Now they cant stop talking about them.
I know there is a lot of trauma from years past, which will be hard for some to get over. But there will be no issue to get a sea of red in toronto for the Jamaica game. There will be some. But this game if played in Toronto will sell out in the presale in hours. This game will be a coronation event. No matter who we play!
The ONLY way this is not played in Toronto is of they can't get 100% capacity. Then you look at elsewhere.

At least we won't have to hear him filling us in on "player x- the Canadian international".

It was the traditional Dunfield high pitched laugh following Canada taking a 2-0 lead over the USA.
I actually just thought he lost it when Wheeler's voice cracked yelling Adekugbe! But agree the calls have gotten better.

I don't know why, and don't anybody read anything into this, but even before this callup refusal, I've had the feeling things just won't quite work out with Theo on a national team basis. Hope I'm wrong, just one of my "intuitions"

A year and a bit ago before games with the US we were doing calculus to figure out how to scrape FIFA points to get into the Hex.
Now we are tracking Pot 3 possibilities. Times.

So why this specific game? Why not give Hamilton the Honduras, Panama or El Salvador home game, thus leaving the US game for a bigger venue?
We’re entering tinfoil hat territory here when the simplest answer (travel, plus the unavailability of BMO) is the correct one.
I also don’t know why it’s so hard to believe that the Hamilton PHU would have reservations about allowing this game to proceed given everything else that’s going on in the province at the moment.
