Under the circumstances (canceled game, high prices, timing, etc) it may be understandable why there may be low numbers but I still think there is an element of truth behind your statement. I don’t know what attendance will ultimately be, but if the CMNT plays a home game, at this time, in a stadium that is mostly empty, I think the CSA will be hesitant to go out there again for a while regardless of the surrounding circumstances.

You (who i admire a lot on this forum) just wrote a 408 word political response to someone and literally never once mentioned, soccer, sport, the cancelled game or our National program.

I have been on sports forums for over 25 years, pretty much since there were sports forums.  Ive never once ranted about or even brought up a prime minister on them.  Yet some of you seem to talk about him in half your posts.  Its unreal.  Not only do you all feel the need to constantly bring him up, but youre literally saying we should lose fifa points, get sued, and forfeit a chance at HOSTING THE WORLD CUP just so it somehow punishes the guy. The snowflakiest bunch of snowflakes Ive ever seen.  Its really pretty damn sad.  Ive voted for, supported, and despised different parties and politicians through my life, but my god this is a derangement.

Sorry but you are wrong. They absolutely were talking about it and starting to do interviews for publication that same day. He made his comments on Tuesday, May 17. My friend had a cousin who died on that plane. He had requests for interviews from the media on May 15th, before Trudeau's comments. The reason he was asked about it in the first place was because there already WAS an absolute shitstorm on social media about this. CSAs ads for this game on social media had hundreds of comments from people demanding it be cancelled before he even said anything. There were articles ready to be published that day on this issue due to the complaints from the families and his comments were then added to the articles for completion and it's why he was even asked. He did not create this firestorm and his response was much more neutral than that of the other political parties.
I'm really disappointed this happened but it was as predictable as the sun rising in the morning.

Again, the CSA not having the foresight to anticipate that should not be surprising to anyone that knows the history of the CSA.
And even amongst those that do (i.e. this board), there was barely a peep about the ramifications until the comments from the PM. 
I am fine with throwing shade at the CSA, clearly, but the idea that the CSA are just dunces for not anticipating this, but we in our collective vast wisdom predicted this would happen from the get go is pretttttty disengenuous.

There's a lot of doom and gloom in here over him going to Serbia U21 qualifiers over Canada for Nations League/Iran.
To be honest, I expected this exact situation to play out and I still believe he will switch to Canada.
 
I feel it's all a case of where he's going to get the most playing time/valuable time. Mitrovic likely knows he won't get called to Qatar for Canada, so why bother with the switch now and lose out on playing for the Serbia U21s at the UEFA competition (which is highly watched by European teams  definitely more watched than CONCACAF Nation League matches against Curacao). If Serbia doesn't qualify, it's irrelevant, but there is still a chance he can play there. I'd want to keep that option open. He's a young player and that's a very important scouting tournament for his future prospects. He'll also be playing in a qualifier against France U21 this window, which again will be more visible than a match vs Curacao. Plus, those are huge qualifying games for them, the intensity will also be huge and a great learning experience.
The match against Iran will likely be focused mostly on players for the Qatar team, and to a lesser extent the Honduras game. If he's not going to Qatar, maybe he thinks, best case scenario I play 90 minutes against Curacao, 20 against Honduras, and 0 against Iran. Compared to playing 90 against France U21 and Faroe Islands U21 (that France game again is huge for visibility reasons). Does he want to give up that visibility to play against Curacao? I doubt it. I wouldn't, no offense to Curacao, they're a decent team, but France U21 is more visible.
In my opinion, it's in his best interest professionally to stick with Serbia U21 for now. I'm sure Herdman has talked to him, but likely told him, he's in the plans for the 2026 cycle, not 2022 cycle, so may as well stick out the Serbia U21s while he's eligible and they're still in contention.

On the one hand we have mountains of evidence that points to Herdman being meticulous in his approach to everything involved in the program.
On the other hand, we have a single tweet from the father of a dual national who has been called up to another country's youth teams.
