What the hell was with the 3 additional minutes of added time on top of 13?

Anyway, we should still appeal the absurd extent of punishment . Well done to the ladies for persevering. Clutch!

It was fair tbh. A couple of further injuries, a fair bit of time wasting (eventually by both teams) and a VAR check on the goal.

So we play Columbia.  Any win does it since we have positive goal differential and a loss by them means they would be 0 on GD at best.   And nothing that happens in the NZ-France game could push us to 3rd if we win.

Assuming France beats New Zealand (which they should), Canada will finish 2nd if we beat Colombia

Yeah but if France wins and beats New Zealand, then if we beat Colombia we would finish runners up at best

Well said and thanks. Exactly what I wanted to say. Saved me a post.

We could even finish first if NZ ever managed to beat France.

But the main thing is that we control our destiny.  Nothing can stop us from advancing if we beat Columbia.  And under the circumstances, advancing is a massive accomplishment (especially consider France are #2 in the world and playing at home in the Olympics).

But I know we are all excited but 1 more match left to go against the Colombians and Colombia 🇨🇴 we saw what they were capable of at the Women's World Cup but also Caicedo is their target woman she's dangerous on the ball

The back line was a rock, the keeper made THE save at the right time, our captain was fantastic, our midfield batttled, and I felt Spence's tactics were correct.

F*ck the doubters, including the defeatists on here prior to the match.

We outclassed France in France. With the Men's National Team. And with the Women's National Team. During June. And during July.

France outplayed Canada for about 30 minutes in the first half. Otherwise they looked very ordinary, shaky at the back with two questionable keepers.

That's how they looked vs Colombia:  great frontrunners but faders in the second half.

Fantastic result. 1000x better than cynically losing 35-0 or taking 6 red cards. Now let’s hope they have the emotional energy to get another win next game, and continue with results in the medal rounds.

Praying we beat Colombia 🇨🇴 on Wednesday
