awesome timing @MrsC.  thnx!   do u even have a day job?!?

just wanted to share a postivie experience i had watching chilé in gibsons, bc at the blackfish pub.  when they easily coulda put on CFL, baseball, wrestling, darts, or loggersports, they had the match on all screens with sound full blast.

they even put the local chiléan group smack dab in the middle of the room.  everybody had a great time jeering at them cause they were such hardcore fans.   they had a great time jabbing us back in their challenged english, but football is everybodys second tongue so that made it even more fun.

their group got so big, the pub shooshed them into their own private room.   probably good as the clock ran closer towards '90.

nice to see actual signs of growth in this country.   hopefully this trends steady and is not a bandwagoner effect.  regretfully, this means more work for u in the future.

It's a good problem to have. But we will need to work on a strategy especially as we head to 2026, to make sure we have the right balance of providing lots of viewing opportunities across the country, but also making sure we are prioritizing the places that consistently show all of the games, big, small, men's, women's, competitive & friendly. It might mean maintaining two lists. One of viewings set up by our local organizing committees that we are working on establishing, and another list of 'bars showing games'.

RANT ALERT.

100%.

There are groups of people who don't identify as Vs who come together to take in the NT matches (ladies or mens) all the time.  It might be down at their local, or at the legion, or at the casino, or at their ethnic club.  It doesn't matter.  They exist.  They're doing it THEIR way.  And if they're supporting Canadian soccer, Gawd bless them.

There is a segment of the population which will never come down to The Exchange to take in a Canada match at The King's Head.  That's just not going to happen.  It's not for them.  But they might join their countryman down at the Prince Edward Legion if they knew the match was on there.

Or at the Boston Pizza on McPhillips.

Or at Nicolino's on Pembina.  And so on...

I HATE, in a way. "encouraging" fragmenting the support.  But anything that might get people away from the TV in their houses and into our broader footie "community", WHERE IT BELONGS, has my full support.

Is Boston Pizza still a thing? Are their cheesy bread sticks still good?

LOL.  You're up early.

It's still a thing I guess in that it is what it is.  You can get a midnight dinner if inclinded, which is a bit hard to do in Winnipeg otherwise.  Can't provided an educated opinion as to the quality of their cheese sticks as it's not my thing but they do have Rickard's Red on tap, for what that's worth.

I brought up the McPhillips street location because I've been in there a few times after "indoor" and found the late night highlight packages well received by the local patrons (and amateur kickers) alike.  Can't say that's true of all locations.

Probably would have been at least 10 years prior that night for the next to last time. It's not exactly on the list of places I have to hit up on my home visits. White Spot, on the other hand.....gotta get my Triple O fix every couple of years!

Friday night having  friends over at my house , pre game cook some Pizzas  have some Carlsbergs , then watch the gamw along with my good luck rosary  in my hand

Denmarks already eliminated. Try out a local craft place. Craft brewing and distilling in this country, specifically Ontario, is an uphill battle.

Can't help you with the quality of their menu but ex covid, it has been a steady income stock with 8%+ yield. They're a regular advertiser on SN/TSN.

We have a bit of a dilemma here in The Hammer, Forge have 7PM ko with Vancouver then the Canada match starts at 9, they are showing the Canada match at Tim Horton Field in the Club section with their over priced beverages, Wingporium which is the official V's viewing location is a 10 minute walk from the stadium but is not huge and will probably be packed! Decisions, decisions!

@gator same issue when the Hip played the last show in Kingston. I found myself at a Tiger cat game with my son (Marko) and at half time, said time to go home and watch the last concert from a great, great band instead of the CFL game. Hopefully you can do both on Friday, a tidy 3-0 lead for Forge at minute 65 and then off to the Wing place to watch our lads as well
