Benching two important players from Championship teams for one super sub and a captain from MLS sides is pretty bold.  

To me Shaff is a super sub, even he knows that's how he's effective.  Osorio's better days are behind him but he's good and calm with the ball.  Venezuela seems to be playing 3 real midfielders, it might be a lot to handle for our midfield even if David is dropping back.  Fingers crossed, but I don't think this gives us our best shot.

Nope, you need your best players to start. Kone is better than invisible Oso which is why he played vs France and was excellent.

I'm not sure that is the case, but if Canada need a goal in the second half I'd hope he gets a chance.

Canada has been sloppy, but there have also been at least two turnovers or near turnovers due to very odd bounces/rolls on the pitch. Something to keep an eye on.
