Match Thread: May 20, 2024 - HFX Wanderers v Valour

Recommended Posts

Just read that Valour have never scored at Wanderers.  Run out of the V's Cup 7 nil by York and -10 on goal difference in league play and counting.  Lovely.

Almonst think they have a better chance next week at Spruce Meadows.  Almost.

Anyway, fingers & toes crossed.  Maybe the lads are due.

Hundal was the big offseason striker signing. How come he is relegated to the bench these days?

From the matches I've watched (all but one), in the central striker role Swibel has been much better. I don't think Hundal has the legs to play in any other position.

interesting that facchineri is on the bench...looks like a 4-2-3-1 with campbell at rb a greek pairing at cb with mourdoukoutas who indeed didnt look ready and a weak duo at dm of sanchez and verhoeven...if rampersad lapare are on a good day they should walk all over it

Could also be the usual 3-5-2 with Campbell playing at the back and Antonoglou and Diogo (or other) taking up the wingback spots.

Tass is captain!?!  Hundal still on bench.  Diogo starts again, not shown much in previous games.

Only watched about 10 minutes of that first half but from the little I saw I have to concur. Halifax had a quality short passing possession style when Gheisar first arrived but now play like a bunch of lumberjacks. THe Valour are the Valour and nothing much more needs to be said than that.

now we see how mistaken dos santos was for not starting him earlier in the season

To be fair, there have been no signs he's been capable of something like this. He may have some quality but he's also a lazy player.
