A Ralf Rangnick/Red Bull video guy. As mentioned, that's why he was in Toronto with Armas. (Probably why Marsch mentioned Bombito playing "in the system" at Colorado). Interesting to me as he's one of these rare non ex-player (high level at least) staff. Almost like the graduate assistant route in American college football. I wonder of TFC is still paying him I hate this type of pandering and phoney language. There is no such thing as a coaching community. And if you establish some kind of "coaching community" at what point are you in the community and out of the community? An who decides who'sin the community? It just lends itself to cronism and favoritism. Plus who are they kidding? You're not reaching out to Tommy Wheeldon for roster decisions. And nor should you. Just sounds ridiculous Edited May 29 by SpursFlu
TGAA_Star
1 hour ago, Joe MacCarthy said: Jesse Marsch finalizes CANMNT Coaching Staff for June friendly window canadasoccer.com May 29, 2024 Mauro Biello to stay on as Assistant Coach Canada Soccer has announced today that new MLS Canada Men’s National Team Head Coach, Jesse Marsch, has finalized his technical coaching staff ahead of Canada’s June friendlies. The new staff will be joined by the players this week ahead of international friendlies against The Netherlands and France on 6 June and 9 June, respectively. Mauro Biello, the previous interim manager of CANMNT, has accepted the position of Assistant Coach, Head of Pro Coaching Integration. In this role, Biello will work as an assistant coach with the senior team, contribute to the Men’s National Team youth system, and act as the liaison between the Men’s National Team and Canadian professional coaches. Mauro’s extension will see him stay with the organization after guiding the Men’s National Team to qualification for the 2024 Copa América. Marsch’s staff is comprised of a mix of full-time and part-time roles. The Men’s National Team technical coaching staff for the June friendly window: Jesse Marsch – MLS Canada Men’s National Team Head Coach Mauro Biello – Assistant Coach, Head of Pro Coaching Integration Ewan Sharp – Assistant Coach, Head Analyst Pierre Barrieu – Assistant Coach, Head of Performance Franz Schiemer – Set Piece Analyst, Head of Player Development Paolo Ceccarelli – Goalkeeper Coach Joe Hamilton – Video and Data Analyst Paul Stalteri – Canadian Coaching Community Representative “This group of talented coaches is the right mix of experience and knowledge at the right time for our program. Many of these coaches have worked with me in the past and understand my philosophy and leadership style. This familiarity, combined with experienced coaches who know the Canadian national team landscape, provides us with the best and most efficient process to transform this team into a new era.” – Jesse Marsch, Men’s National Team Head Coach Jesse Marsch’s technical staff features three new faces: Ewan Sharp, Pierre Barrieu, and Franz Schiemer. Sharp was most previously Jesse Marsch’s assistant manager in England’s Premier League with Leeds United and has previously been a coach and analyst at New York Red Bulls FC, Toronto FC, Lokomotiv Moscow, and Manchester United. Barrieu brings 25 years of experience to the group, having been a director of performance and fitness coach at 10 different professional clubs and national teams across the globe. Schiemer is a former player who amassed over 300 professional caps, most notably with Red Bull Salzburg. He began his coaching career following his retirement and was recently Jesse Marsch’s assistant coach at Red Bull Salzburg and Leeds United. A newly designated coaching position called the “Canadian Coaching Community Representative” will be a rotating opportunity that gives Canadian coaches the chance to join the national teams during select windows. The coaches can be selected at the discretion of National Team head coaches Bev Priestman and Jesse Marsch. I love our new look staff

Joe MacCarthy
I want to post this before the first game because I don't want people to come back when he's finished with Canada and say I was against him personally after he does well. I was against the hiring process that looked like he was given the job and it was a fait accompli with less consideration to the other applicants. I was against that he was American and the optics of hiring someone from our arch enemy who are a benchmark for us to beat and we need one of them to do it. I was against his phone chat with Kevin Blue and the US college rah rah BS vibe it gave off (again I ask where is Pat Riggin when you need him) I think he will take us to the WC and then he'll be gone which will be fine. Lastly, I think he will serve us well and we will do well. It's an impossible task to perform well considering what he is up against in the next weeks but he and we will do it. I think he is the right guy for the time and I'm behind him all the way. jhoops__, An Observer, Unnamed Trialist and 2 others
