Ozzie_the_parrot
No website number for Halifax vs York: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/amm2291n8siwtpf2ud0nwdkpg/highlights More obvious gaps than usual in the main stand but likely still close to 6000. Ozzie_the_parrot
Latest quasi-official numbers via Leonardo_FC on twitter: 5753 implies a near sellout on the active capacity at THF where the Forge game is concerned. The 4000 seat block opposite the cameras didn't look much more than half full in the highlights AFAIR. Ozzie_the_parrot
Vancouver announced 2773 for the York game: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/an13sgzzncvqryxlqvn3eyx3o/highlights Didn't check the Showpass website in the immediate run up to the game so hesitant to comment too much but interesting to see that the safe standing block behind the goal to the right of the camera side now appears to be out of use with a big screen installed. Think that takes 1500 or so off the available active capacity taking thinks down to around 5000.
Ozzie_the_parrot
No website numbers for the Forge and Pacific games: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/anun6j0t83zfvze41ev1lokd0/highlights https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/anun6j0t83zfvze41ev1lokd0/highlights But both looked sparser than normal on crowd size. Unlikely to be much more than 2500 and 2000 tickets scanned, respectively, unless the parts of the stadia that the Onesoccer cameras don't see were spectacularly busy. Have always heard it said that the CFL season only really start after Labour Day in terms of fan interest. Pro soccer seems to go the opposite direction in Canada. Ozzie_the_parrot
No announced number for Valour vs Atletico: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/ao9f2rx1j80mmln6lvogvhy50/highlights Looks like the worst crowd of this season so far in Winnipeg and that may be due to the Monday evening timing given it's not a long weekend involved. Honestly wouldn't be fully confident claiming there are more than 1000 people there for this one from the very good camera angles you can see in the Onesoccer highlights. Ozzie_the_parrot
York vs Valour announced as 1607: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/aooqp9pue6o4jg1cqhc901ez8/highlights That would suggest that the main seating area should be around half full. Was only able to watch about 10 minutes up to half time. A crowd shot that was left out of the highlights just after the equalizer was definitely not consistent with that. Surprisingly sparse given how well they are playing and the free ticket giveaway for first time spectators.
narduch
Not sure what there is to question here. York seem to be pretty honest about their attendance numbers this season
Ozzie_the_parrot Posted yesterday at 09:56 AM Share Posted yesterday at 09:56 AM 6127 announced for the Halifax vs Forge game: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/ap5qe61ujej1vov3esx7o8m50/highlights And as you would expect the seats are almost all being used. Compare and contrast with what happens when the Forge are the home club and announce at near active capacity. No website number for Pacific vs Vancouver: https://canpl.ca/matchcentre/apktm3cfdcvgx7kizis9v8sno/highlights But fan interest appears to be slowly fading away. Not sure it's safe to assume they are still drawing 2000+ actual given that's just under 40% of seated capacity. Used to be difficult to see the white PFC and maple leaf seats due to them being occupied Now it's very easy.
Watchmen Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM Share Posted yesterday at 02:48 PM Weather was good, rivalry match, playoffs still a distinct possibility, so was surprised to see so many empty seats at Pacific. This is the type of game that should be selling out. Ivan and nolando
