I understand this point but I still find it vague when they just list "Toronto" as the location - they had right paragraphs of PR blurb to mention the stadium name.

The lady Whitecaps will be hosting the NWSL Portland Thorns on that day.

For a second friendly in Oct:

- UEFA doing Nations League
- CONMEBOL doing WCQ
- CAF doing AFCON qualifying
- AFC (all the good ones anyway) doing WCQ
- OFC doing WCQ
- CONCACAF other than top 4 doing CNL

So are we completely stuck with MEX/USA/PAN or the AFC teams that didn't make it to 3rd round? Even some of those have arranged friendly tournaments already (India, Thailand, Vietnam). Are we going to just play MEX and USA for the next 2 years?

USA already has Mexico and Panama for October, and then Mexico reportedly will play Valencia for their second October friendly. So we could play one of the out of schedule AFC teams or get creative (club/non fifa teams).

I have excluded the teams in the UEFA Nations League D, as the logistics of playing them would be difficult and they mostly already have friendlies scheduled as they are in groups of 3.
All 6 of those UEFA teams are ranked below 150.

If getting a second frendly is on the cards . or trying to be arranged  vs a so called minnow, why not play the likes of a St  Kitts , Dominica, or a Guadaloupe  with  a  B/C squad

They’re playing already and those nations don’t have resources to send B squads in a same window. We don’t even.

They are already playing in a friendly tournament with Thailand, Syria and Philippines.

Selfishly I’m disappointed this game isn’t in Montreal. Living in Ottawa, we’ve made the trip several times since ‘21 down the 401 (there and back the same day a few times) so it would have been great to do a day trip to Montreal 

Is there a window in November? Would that be nations league again?

There is Nations league in November and they have also confirmed today that that game will also be in Toronto.

We won't know the opponent until mid-October

Did some looking through schedules. Singapore may be the top team we can get.

Future WC qualifying windows will be full of games vs Usa and Mex till the WC. 

Getting Tier 1 oponents for the Gold Cup will be super important.

2025 will have some opportunities to play in WCQ windows vs UEFA teams that are drawin into a 4-team group (March and June windows) and the odd-team out each matchday in 5-team groups (September, October and November windows).
