League 1 Ontario 2024

Recommended Posts

FC London officially promoted from Championship to Premier for next season. The relegation battle will be determined on the final match day with six teams within three points of the relegation spot. The last place team will play Scrosoppi B in the promotion playoff. Vaughan B and Alliance B have already been promoted to Championship for next season.

Sudbury finished two points back of the promotion playoffs. The Borough and Rush have more work to do to push for promotion next season. Looking forward to more independent programs joining next season.

The first ever L1O pro/rel match to enter the Premier division will be tomorrow. Guelph United were 11th in Premier and will be playing away to St. Catharines Roma Wolves who finished third in Championship.

How did they decide the home team?

I'm not sure but if I know anything about universities it's that when they start up again their teams take priority. Wouldn't surprise me if Guelph United get punted from their stadium once USPORTS football begins.

It was supposed to be at the Ontario Soccer Centre, as a neutral venue, a couple days ago. However, Guelph requested a rescheduling, so it was given to Roma to host as a compromise in exchange for changing the date.

I'm very curious to see how the promoted and relegated teams fare next season.  My suspicion is that there isn't much difference between the Premiere and Championship teams so the promoted/relegated teams won't necessarily be at the bottom/top of their new leagues, but we'll see.
