Recommended Posts

Thanks to the boy for bringing a ray of sunshine in what was admitedly a crappy day for the Canada-Impact-ATO soccer fan that I am...

Now to hope we can win some medals asap so that both me and our sports media have something else to think about...

Simple answer is yes, and then you provide a link for more Information. (Wiki has given false information on the CMNT many times)

To repeat a previous post, Concacaf don't take youth soccer seriously. It's simply unacceptable to play  U20 WCQs on fields like the one that teams in Canada's group have played on for their 3 games. It doesn't allow for the game to be played at a high level. If weather is a concern, better to use turf. Its shocking that Mexico could not have provided better facilities and Concacaf have to do better due diligence re host venues. Your can't really blame dual nationals for selecting to play for a Euro nation at youth level when our own Federation treats  U20 WCQ in this manner.

This tournament could have also been in January or February of 2025.

Both Conmebol and AFC are doing their tournaments in 2025.

You also have to question playing 2 matches per day at the same stadium for multiple days. Even under the best of conditions the grass won't hold up

Wiki says July gets 16 days of rain in the host cities at this time of year. This isn’t a secret. Pick somewhere else in Mexico that isn’t in monsoon season. It’s like hosting games in Port Alberni in November.
