jonovision
Apart from Rea leaving, I think I like this year's Valour roster as much or better than last year's. That said, I think a few of the other middling teams have improved more. 1. Cavalry 2. Forge 3. Pacific 4. York 5. Ottawa 6. Valour 7. Halifax 8. Unnamed Trialist
Haven't made a prediction other than that general observation earlier, but seeing everyone picking Vancouver to come dead last: don't think so. Probably have the most experienced coach in the league. Nothing about the pre-season suggests they are not ready to compete head to head with the best. They will have decent home support, based on preview matches, in a stadium configuration that will help push them. Being close to a major airport the travel options are better than for most other teams, and besides, half the league is west of the Great Lakes. So travel won't hurt VFC as it would, say, the Whitecaps.

As ever, the teams most affected by travel challenges will be Valour and Halifax, although with the deletion of Edmonton, Cavalry's travel will also become more onerous. The other thing to see is how travel affects Pacific-VFC matches. Sure, the ferry is a bit long, but it is not tiring, you can walk around, you are not in a seat. You reserve your team bus at a certain time and it could be as short as 4 hours from stadium to stadium. So this could benefit Pacific too, over almost a 4-week period you take no flights, home, away by ferry, home, then you fly away. And you do that twice a year. How does At Ottawa go to Hamilton or TFC, by bus?
