Anyone else look at this and think the minutes played by players 18 and under is kind of low given that this is a development league? I'd say Pearlman and Stefanovic had the most productive season's simply just due to their ages and positions in terms of greater National Team needs. In terms of output in relation to minutes played, Habibullah, Mbounge and Wright are the young players that seem to have had the most efficient seasons. Each team played 28 games on the season. Only Keesean Ferdinand played in every game of their team's season. Despite, playing one less game, Salvatore Mazzaferro had the most minutes of all Canadian's in MLS. Toronto FC's Adam Pearlman & Lazar Stefanovic both racked up over 2,000 minutes as well. In Vancouver, Antoine Coupland managed over 2,000 minutes as well. They only other player to break this 2,000 minute threshold was Chrisnovic N'Sa. Despite, bouncing from the 1st team and 2nd team, Levonte Johnson had the most goals of all Canadian's this season with 7. Toronto FC's Reshaun Walkes & Hugo Mbongue had the next most goals with 6 & 5 respectively. O'Vonte Mullings & Toronto FC's Markus Cimermancic led all Canadian's with 5 assists each. In limited minutes, Brandon Cambridge was tied with Toronto FC's Jordan Faria & Matthew Catavolo for 3rd most assists from Canadian's with 4. Only Luka Gavran & Max Anchor played more than 10 games in net for their club. Despite nearly 2.00 goals against average, Gavran ended the season with a strong save percentage. Isaac Boehmer started for Vancouver 9 times and put up quite strong numbers as well. nolando
I'm wondering about those top two players, Ferdinand and Mazzaferro, whose namely aren't entirely familiar to me. Both defensive players. Both over 6 feet. Ferdinand just 20 and Mazzaferro 22 this week. Still top prospects? I'd love to have guys like this in CPL (Vancouver FC, please) but perhaps only after they have exhausted their prospects of cracking an MLS roster next season. Of those 28, there's probably another 10 or so that are senior MLS players doing a couple games as a rehab stint. Great point, but even still... those 28 mixed in with the USL players (I think there's only a handful) should be a great list for CPL teams to be looking at. I think with CCC coming to the CPL next year, there should be a greater allure to play with a CPL team.

An Observer
Sali seems to be having a decent year. 7 goals and 2 assists. Not bad for someone who is not a striker. Maybe one to watch as an outside possibility for a breakout before 2026 Kadenge, CanadaFan123 and Corazon 2
CanadaFan123
Some impressive seasons being had. Can’t believe Habibullah hasn’t been called up by SKC yet. Safe to say Jay Herdman will never play for Canada? Corazon

Safe to say Jay Herdman will never play for Canada? Habibullah has followed the same pattern he did at Vancouver - start the season extremely well, then fade as the year goes on. When you’re a reserve player, that’s the worst possible way for your season to go. You start the year buried on the depth chart, and then you’re not performing by the time first team injuries start to accrue. His drop-off in production this year has not been as pronounced as 2023, but one goal contribution in his last nine games doesn’t scream “call me up”. masster

He had 7 goals in a 4 game span, then 10 with nothing, wasn't on the squad for the 11th, then finally scored in the 12th. SKC isn't good. If he was contributing to the 2 team, they'd call him up. Maybe one to watch as an outside possibility for a breakout before 2026 He signed as a u22 signing, so from that perspective it’s a bit disappointing that he’s a NextPro regular. Signed a long term contract though and Dallas has a good track record of developing young players (though not recently). Would also need to file a onetime switch, I gather, but is probably off Romania’s radar for now.
