There is a very real chance that this WC will confirm what many have been saying for much of the qualifying campaign - our attackers are skilled and generally at the level required, our mids are capable and collectively are at or near the level needed, but our defense is simply not the same level as the rest of the team.  That may be harsh but I think it is fair to say that they overperformed during qualification and it is hard to sustain that indefinitely - especially against higher quality opposition.

The overreactions to Piette are nearly a decade old. Truth be told, it's better for him to be non-visible a lot of the time. 

I don't love him and Hutch on the pitch at the same time, but today I'd assume it's more out of necessity with Eustaquio out.

Qualifying was just a dream run.  As fans, we quickly forgot what it looked like before 2020.  This team got trashed 4-1 by the US very recently.
