I’m just saying, it isn’t like we roll out the red carpet when our opponents come to our home turf.

Actually, we do usually.  Other than those two games in Edmonton, when have ever actually taken advantage of our climate?

Since we don't throw bags of piss at the opposition, or pull the fire alarms in at midnight in their hotels, it's about time we took advantage of our climate.  Back in the days when we were playing qualifiers at Swangard in front of 5,000 people, most of them supporting the other country, the visitors were allowed to train at Swangard, and we weren't.  Trinidad's in town?  Let's hire a steel drum band to welcome them.

Conclusion: Kone man of the match for Canada.

Osorio got his minutes, and Piette held up correctly. The rest of the MLS guys got some game pace.

All were acceptable, except maybe Waterman and Kaye. And Ayo, who is nowhere near anyways.

St. Clair likely is not as good as Crepeau, and a much clearer step down from Borjan than Maxime.

Henry "didn't play" his way onto the team.

Most of the discouraging aspects of this match have to do with players that aren't likely to have a starting role in Qatar. Kaye, Piette, Waterman, Laryea. The one big exception to that is the overall defensive performance where the team suffered massively from the absence of the two guys that organize the back line, Borjan and Vitoria, and missed out on Henry in the same way.

The positives are Kone (he's ready), Osorio playing 90. ZBG and a few of the other bench cameos were also decent, but not really the kind of thing worth drawing conclusions about.
