I doubt it happens because of the sheer quality he is facing but this would be a game where Kone could essentially book a seat on the plane to Qatar if he showed Herdman he could excel at this level.

Davies has been radically ineffective today. Along with making bad choices and trying to do things he can't. Herdman can't give him a free hand, it wastes his talent and hurts the team.

My frame of reference is better in hockey, but he's the typical soft 2nd line forward who doesn't play physical, doesn't draw penalties, no defence, but you park him near the net and give him an elite centre and he gives you 35 goals in his sleep. Those players don't win championships, but they have great stat lines and get big contracts.
